The times when i am in the best mood are when it is gloomy, overcast, and a little dark outside! I dont like the sunny days as much as the gloomy rainy days. Anyone else like me? What are your opinions on different kinds of weather? What is your favorite? Also, being that a lot of people here tend to live in the UK, what is the weather like up there? Down here in America it is usually sunny, we are almost to our first snow of the year.

Dont mind the typo in the title!

Yes! I love gloomy rainy days, I especially love mornings when I wake up and and it's still dark and cold out.

I live in southern British Columbia near Vancouver, and in fall as the winter approaches it gets rainy a lot. For example today it was grey foggy

I like slightly cloudy at around 75 degrees. Throw in some light rain and I'll sit inside and listen to it pitter-patter on my roof.
Thank goodness there's a lot of that here in the Midwest.

Cheesehead for life.

I love that! Too bad it hasnt been foggy here lately, however, im on the very top of a hill overlooking a very large valley, so when fog rolls in, it looks really cool because i am above all the fog!

I like a warm, humid, light rain occasionally, i usually only find that down in Denver, my state's capitol. Im up in the mountains so i never really find a warm rain up here. Haha my elevation is 8500 feet!

I love wet weather most of the time, although having sold my car recently to raise money for a house, I now only have my motorbike for transport. Motorbike + rain != fun. However, I love getting wrapped up in waterproofs and walking in a downpour, or when it's really cold.

I only really get tired of rain + cold by Feb/March, at which point spring starts to sort it out anyway.

Damp and overcast today, but not raining in the south. The nights are drawing in. We've been forecast a heatwave though apparently. 26c I heard. I don't believe it.

26 isn't hot, but it's warm. It's been heading into winter, dropping down into the low teens, so to jump back up to 26 for the weekend is a nice surprise.

You probably set it to 25F not C, 25F would be cold (-3.8888888888888893C)

sweden summer - +30c
sweden winter - -30c

I love weather where the sun shines a bit, but barely makes it through to shine, and it rains, not a lot but a little, it may be around 15-20+c

that the best weather imo

Isn't she adorable?

Nope definitely 25C...

Although to be fair, when it hits 38/39 25 does feel cold...

And here I thought swedish summers were hot!
(not really, just feels more hot for use swedes since we actually have winter half the year, where it is 30c MINUS... so therefore summers feels hotter than it would for someone who constantly has above 0celcious...

so yeah... we ususally go with the heat thingy that heats the buildings at maximum at winters and as low as possible in the summer lol x) and a cooler with the option 18c is AMAZIIING in the summers!!^^

Isn't she adorable?

I grew up in London. I used to think it got hot there in summer. Moving to North Queensland has redefined my definition of hot. By the same token when it gets cold here and people are wearing winter clothes, I think they're crazy as it is far from cold. My mother in law would never cope with an English winter.

Neither can we, if last year is anything to go by. Millions of sick-man-days taken, because pleb features can't get his front wheel drive fiesta through 4 inches of snow.

Last year I sat behind a woman in her bloody smart car on a slight incline for about 5 minutes as she wheel spun her way behind three red lights.
Hate how the country just stops after a little trickle of snow.

I for one love the rain, but living in the UK I suppose I have to.
It is true that we brits can't handle the heat though, when I went to Egypt they were suffering from a heatwave, it hit 46c when I was there. I spent most of that day indoors and I still got burnt...

I like the rain, but without rain I find gloomy weather to be quite depressing, I do enjoy a nice hot sunny day, though not too hot as heatwave pretty much means you're going to be sweating in your chair let along feel like actually doing anything useful.

People only like rain because it gives them an excuse to stay in doors and do nothing... like usual, but now they have an excuse to do so. Yes, maybe it smells good and fresh, but very very very few people actually like being in the rain.

It always slightly bugs me when people say they like rain because 95% of the people that say they do, don't go outside in the rain. In fact, they generally hate being in the rain and just stay indoors.

Rain is necessary and needed obviously, but you don't see people dancing in skipping in the rain because they like it.

Give me a 100 Fahrenheit weather where I can ride my bike without a shirt on and bake in the sun... Now that's nice weather. Though that gets too hot sometimes lol. 75 Fahrenheit is just right.

I love it when the weather is completely horrible at night, like thunder storms and strong winds, makes sleeping in the sounds of it all awesome .

I'm pretty indifferent when it comes to the weather. I enjoy all of it, however I rather it be cold then hot. I find it easier to take my mind off the cold then to take my mind off hot/humid weather. Also, as a tradition, I watch the movie Twister during the first thunderstorm of every summer

I hate the rain. Perfect time of year for me is Spring, bright, sunny, but not too hot and overpowering.

Sitting inside while it rains is lovely. I love sitting in my conservatory with my NetBook in whether like that. Nice and relaxing.

You can like something without having to immerse yourself in it. Some people are fascinated by fire, but they don't have to douse themselves in petrol and run into a volcano in order to enjoy it's charm.

Our summers are pretty decently temperatured, but the winters can get really cold, especially in the night. We get any where from 95 F (35 C) down to -40F (-40C).

Like I said... 95% of the people. I didn't say everyone lol. There are exceptions.

Regardless of people's opinions on the matter, I stand by my thoughts on rain. Until I see people actually enjoying the rain, they're just being lazy and having an excuse to do so.

Maybe it's because rain smells good, so lazy people indoors can actually enjoy the outside by smelling it while indoors.

I like rain not as an excuse to stay inside--i also dont like to be out in it. I like it because of the way it looks, the smell, the sound, and the way it feels outside afterwards, but primarily the looks. if it's light rain i dont care if im out in it...

But you cant just assume that the majority of people that like rain are lazy

Why not? The majority of people I know that say they like rain haven't even seen the sun before. I believe this because of my experiences with the type of people that like rain... They are either fat, lazy, or unsocial computer geeks that live in the internet (not meaning anywhere here in particular, just people I know and/or have met.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone here is any of the three, though some likely are the third here lol... This is just from my experience. The people I have met that like rain, never go outside.

For the most part and in my experience, people that like rain, do not like the outdoors. Which is fine, you may like the rain from the indoors, but I can guarantee you don't like the outdoors in the rain... again... for the most part.

I prefer gray and overcast skies, too. When I wake up in the morning and see bright sunshine I get kind of depressed, and I've never met anyone else like that in real life.

Lol I can do that WITHOUT the rain.

Sometimes it's inconvenient being out in the rain as you're just trying to get from A to B or you're going somewhere and you're soaking wet, but I like being out in the rain, though I don't really do it as much as when I was a kid, but there is definitely something meditative about it. It started raining during our peak district walk over a week ago and sure we took refuge inside of a cave (I don't think our friend would have appreciated us being sat in her car soaking wet), but it was totally awesome just being sat there with a cup of tea in hand and looking out at the rain.

Meh. Try sitting through a full "summer" in the UK. The last few years you can count sunny warm days on one hand. This year summer practically didn't exist. When I moved back from Cyprus a couple of years ago people were like "Of course you are escaping this hot weather for better weather in UK!". And they were not kidding. Sometimes in the summer they dance on the streets when it rains. They are of course wrong though. Anyone who has lived a few summers (mainly recently as in the last decade) in the UK knows how much it sucks. Vitamin D supplements for me I think!

To be honest, I like rain a little when its just a short burst at summer. Thats pretty awesome when you are swimming and it rains.

I've also been sprinting through a lightning storm at sea once. That was just an awesome feeling of being alive...

I also concider the sound of rain being relaxing.

Other than that...its just awful. especially when you are working in the woods or are assigned to mow a meadow and it pours down like monsunrain.

Obviously people in the UK have little experience of programming in just your shorts by the pool in decently warm sunny weather. Trust me as long as you have an anti-glare screen, excellent loud music, and plenty of alcohol it's awesome.

Note just to be 100% correct the last time you could do that in the UK was 1988 (on a ZX Spectrum at a guess). I believe T'Pau were just beginning to get overplayed...
