So recently (as in, starting today), my computer has been acting weird. My browser loads up very slowly. When it opens a new window to load a site it will sit there on "Connecting to..." with the IP of the site showing, for about 2 minutes before actually loading the site. Once I'm at the site, navigating around it is quick. It only seems to be slow when either opening a new window or when moving to a new domain.

I thought maybe it was IE being retarded, but I've check Firefox, Chrome, and Opera and they all do the same thing!

I thought maybe it was my internet connection, but none of my other computers have this problem!
So, I restarted my desktop, hoping that might fix it. I opened IE again and this time I was greeted by Mamutu telling me that a program was trying to do something bad. The program is "WerFault.exe" located in "C:/Windows/SysNative/" .... I've never seen that program before, nor can I find that directory on my computer (even displaying hidden folders, as well as navigating through command prompt)!

Does anyone recognize that program? I looked it up online and it seems like it should be legit.. but it was strange that Mamutu only barked about it when I tried to open IE. Maybe there's a connection?

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that I don't see and have never seen WerFault.exe displayed in Task Manager under Processes.

I absolutely suck with these kind of problems and they bug me to no end believe me.
But have you tried the obvious? Defrag? Or using CCleaner?
Yesterday I opened up my desktop case and gave it a good clean, which resulted in it running a LOT better. Especially since the CPU was literally caked in the dust clutter.

Also maybe try Window's Update. See if there are any optional updates or anything.

If all comes to worse, and it is absolutely NOT a hardware error.
An OS re-install usually fixes most problems.

As I said, I am not a pro with tech problems.
Hope some of it helped though

EDIT/BTW: werfault.exe is a windows error sender thingy for Microsoft.
It is known to make your CPU go haywire.
Turn it off by following these instructions.
Quote: "1. Open control panel.
2. Select "System & Maintenance"
3. Select "Administrative Tools"
4. Select "Services"
5. Right-Click "Windows Error Reporting Service"
6. Select "Properties"
7. In the "Service Status" Section Click [Stop]
8. Set "Startup type:" to "Manual" or if this is started by another
application select "Disabled"
9. Save and close the dialog boxes. "

Going by Rampage's feedback... WER would likely stand for Windows Error Reporting >.<

And I would normally suggest a Reformat, I perform one at least once a month... yeah sure licences play a real pain in the [insert french word here]

Another idea would be... urm btw which IE are you running? perhaps install IE9 and then remove it if already installed and then reinstall...

Other than that... reformat baby!

You reformat at least once a month? Jeeeze, why?

I only need to reformat about every 2 years.

trust me, it makes a real difference... plus I often change drives a lot or change the drive style [raid / non-raid] and sometimes hate mirroring my drive to simply perform a 30 minute restore to post install images... they work and dont work... so I prefer completely fresh installs.

Besides... my drives get very busy with all sorts of stuff I just archive everything and run from fresh plus it keeps your thinking perspective on how your system works fresh too, you dont forget the things that matter... [disable UAC, DEP settings, performance increases etc]

Gah, i disabled automatic updating for good, really, it took my computer's performance and threw it down the toilet! Now that it's disabled, my computer runs fine.
