Hi all,
It would be usefull in the manual to have a table of particularities or comparison between the various device AppGameKit can program.

like :
- screen resolution (is already)
- memory available, and if various kind
- speed (estimation)
- imputs available
- multitasking & its specificities
- any special usefull info about it
- sound level comparison
- GPS
- ...

The more AppGameKit will be completed and powerfull, the more it will necessay go to more specific hardware, the more that will be required.
(from my opinion, soon or later we will not avoid to have with almost every function, on small paragraph describing device specificities or remark for it)

no ?

Thanks,
Fabrice

I think that they want to keep it simple and multi-platform and don't want to support device specific functions.

The list would be stupidly long. There are a wide range of phones running at different resolutions, with different storage capacities (and do you quote onboard or SD card storage), with a number of different hardware architecures for CPU and GPU.

The only common thing between many of them will be the OS.

Google advise that you code for general 'densities' and not particular resolutions: http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html

And then how do mix that with devices running Android/iOS/Meego/Bada/Windows and whatever else AppGameKit happens to support in the future? Is a phone running Android on a smallish screen comparable to netbook running Meego on a high res monitor?

no need to put it "stupidly long" ... just what is required to know to program that influences AppGameKit, Bursar
The aim is not to have a device comparison for purchasers of devices

About the Google advise ... do not forget they are not independant at all in this topic ... the fact remains that if you do want to use advance features on more OS, you have device specificities;

We want to do more than a pong game, don't we ? (GPS, multitouch screen, angle of device ...)

Cheers,
