Does anyone know how to turn of the default light. I tried setting its normalization off. It won't let me change it to a spot or point light. The only thing that seems to be adjustable is the color. However it seems to be stuff as a directional light with some soft white light.I would to turn this off so I can make a sample project using the other light types however I just can't seem to figure out how to make it go away.

The default light can be hidden.

Ambience can also be adjusted to tweak the normals facing away from lights. If you are going for that Batman look; turn global ambience or local object ambience down really low. Only normals facing the lights will be bright.

As for additional lights, they can be used in what way you see fit, but making use of the default light is a good idea due to the limited quantity of lights you have to play with.

To continue with what Chris said, there are two lights turned on by default: Ambience light and light 0.
To start controlling them, turn off ambient light, and set light 0 to the profile that you want (type, position, etc.)
