here's something i might want to get. i want to upgrade it enough to use db pro on it too and some games like left for dead 2(nothing crazy and hardcore graphics like BF3). i just wanted to get one with an XP os. what do you guys think?

It would probably do okay, depending on the video card. The processor's a bit on the slow end at 1.4ghz. Worth 40 bucks imo.

im planning to upgrade the video card, power supply, sound card, etc. once i buy it. i found a better deal just now. planning to do mostly dp pro related stuff on this computer that's all.

I think a low spec machine is good for game dev. It'll encourage you to optimise and make your games run well on low end systems. As indis we want to appeal to as many users as possible and since we cant really compete with AAA titles on visuals i dont think you necessarily need a machine that can render them. So go for it.

i wonder if it accepts x16 slot will it accept any video card? because i was thinking about putting a 9800gt or GTX 5XX series or any of the geforce cards in. i miss owning a geforce card. my first computer was a custom built with windows XP and it had a geforce card in it.

I think a low spec machine is great as a testing machine, but I'd want some serious power to be actually developing on (builds/content processing takes too much time otherwise).
