I saw this on TV earlier today and think it is one of the best features they have ever had on the show, and hopefully show the future of what games can be for everyone.

It involved them playing battlefield, on an omni-directional treadmill, on a 360 degree domed screen, with paintballs gettin shot at you when you were hit in the game, using your body to run around the map, jump or crouch

The videos just show how good it is

This is the teaser trailer released last week but you get the idea of what they did

Here is the full feature (I think? didnt watch it all)

Abolutely AMAZING definately what microsoft had in mind when they made kinect

Definitely bad ass. Might cost a fair amount to get a set up like that at home though! I'd wager more than 10 British pounds. Perhaps even more than 12!

Certainly did look like a lot of fun. Once the figure out a way to do cheap motion restriction then we might see these things being commercially available. I think those rollers are about the best system I've seen, and probably a lot cheaper to produce than other methods.

That "igloo" is probably twice as big as my living room, but

I saw it on channel 5, I just wish they'd taken the time to add a stereoscopic option (easy enough with dlp projectors and wireless shutter glasses).

The other thing that concerned me was the sudden difference moving from rollers back to the solid floor in the middle, but I assume it was done in a way that made the speed gradually change only to oppose the direction you try to walk, rather than push you to the centre all the time.

I think something like that would be perfect at for events, I'm soo bored of seeing those big bungee trampoline things at every place with a few tourists or people on

I really have no idea how that treadmill would actually work but I think there must be more to it

Asked my dad if we can put one in the garden, he said I can... if I can pay for it, don't think I'll be getting it anytime soon maybe for battlefield 14

Now they just have to add 3D to the mix.
