That be great
Well, I played for another 10 hours today and it only closed once, not bad

Did notice a glitch or two though, one significant one is that the saving doesn't seem to save the amount of gold a merchant has. I went in a store and sold some stuff until the merchant had 20 gold, but I sold the wrong stuff. So, I loaded the autosave and the merchant still had only 20 gold left. I also saw some people go all ghost on me where their skin was invisible but I could see their clothes. This game is still 100% amazing despite the few bugs I've seen so far. If anyone is debating buying it or not, just buy it. There are a few insignificant bugs but they certainly do not affect the whole experience of the game.

Me and my brother waited since Oblivion for this game, i think it suits a fine replacement, We actually do a lot of studying on the Elder Scrolls Storyline, it's very interesting to study and make inferences based off of modern Elder Scrolls, We're pretty much elder scrolls historians, that's how much we love the series.

So did anybody else wait in line at the stores on 11/10/11 like I did? I was in line since 8:00 that night. The anticipation nearly killed me . So, yeah, great game, it's perfect, yada yada.

I'm wasting valuable playtime posting this!

No I didn't wait in line... I finished work on Friday and went and got it...

Then I played for a bit.. and spent the rest of the weekend playing Uncharted 3...

I got a message from EB Games on the 10th and picked it up about an hour later. I've been playing it a lot since then, level 30 Nord with 100 smithing and legendary dragon plate armour

Also, something happened witch made me laugh a lot, killed a chicken on Skyrim, +40 bounty, the witness has been killed... the chicken witnessed it's own death

the chicken lived on in afterlife!

also, considering food = very valuable in that time, iam fairly sure that its considered a very big crime.. since youre pretty much cutting of a food supply more or less

would be the same as stealing pretty much :3

this game is amazing. Oblivion feels like complete crap compared to Skyrim

Question: Is it me or do NPCs in skyrim feel less dynamic than in Oblivion. The thing is so far i am noticing that all NPCs do is their job, or some 1 thing they usually do. they dont move around the town much exept when they go home at night, the tavern feels empty all the time.

I spent most of my time a Whiterun and i am noticing that there is one nord who spends all day leaning against a wall with his arm folded, there is another guy who spends all his tiome in the tavern, and pretty much, they feel less dynamic than oblivions NPCs who moved around the town trought the day and did multiple things and went to multiple places.

I only played about 20 hours of Oblivion and about 30 hours of Morrowind, before I lost interest and went elsewhere. I must say from my experience with those two games, that Skyrim seems like a lot more "fun". I don't remember combat being this way (l/r buttons with l+r combo) in the other games but maybe they were.

I spent an annoying 10 minutes trying to get past this doorway into a spider-den, finally realizing that my graphics card did not like whatever 3D effect/shader they were using and it didn't display the webs blocking the entrance! Grrrr. I slashed in anger at the air and saw some webs flying off, so all was well.

Combat feels VERY slick, the way the camera move, the different animations, the response form my clicks, all that feels VERY slick
i would say its up to par with Dark messiah, with the exception of the movement being not so slick..

not a big fan of enemy AI, since its the same like in any other elder scroll game: lock on target, run towards target, thus its hard to avoid attacks...

but it works fine anyway, being a fire mage/melee combatant is really fun!

No!!! The postoffice is too slow, my new hardware comes in tomorrow... I have to wait one more day

On an unrelated note: I'm really surprised that skyrim is such a huge success, I mean, I am a huge medieval geek and fantasy rpg nerd... but I dont recall everybody else being that amazed by that kind of stuff

Basically game developers have tricked ordinary Joes to like Dungeons and Dragons with shiny shiny and not calling it Dungeons and Dragons. A good plan I feel and normal people are now excited by the geekiest things. Success I think.

Now, for the next stage is Elder Scrolls the Board Game, fun family entertainment for normal people and totally not geeks. In maybe 10 or 15 years normal people will dress up in their dungeon master costumes and go to RPG conventions. Then...think of all the chicks you could get just by pointing out continuity errors between two games. Then woo them with tales of an ancient time when people played The Elder Scrolls: Arena and nobody knew of its existence.

Either that or people will still throw rotten apple cores yelling "go roll a die NERD!" However, I am a person who likes to inspire hope and prosperity, to be the optimist, so much so that realism is a strange concept to me, Wolf, do not be worried my dear friend, we will rise yet and we will be calling jocks nerds and shunning them for liking sports n stuff.

Thats because any way you look at it Skyrim is INSANELEY AMAZING! The world is beautifully crafted even tho some might argue that the graphics are worse than in oblivion stuff like less polygons and lack of fancy shaders, Dont listen to those people who like to knitpick, the game looks absolutley beautiful, I can tell that this game was handcrafted unlike oblivion a lot of which was generated by algorithms stuff like forests and dungeons.

This game feels a lot more like Morrowind but better, The NPC voices are incredibly awesome, the soundtrack is beautiful.

The sidequests (i didnt even start the main quest yet) are really awesome. Even some sidequests that seem like small generic short quests end up stretching for hours and end up being a lot more interesting than i assumed.

Skyrim is pretty much everything i hoped for and Todd howard redeemed himself after dissapointing oblivion.

I seriosly hope they will come out with a construction set for making mods This game needs them.

To my surprise, one of my friends actually thinks skyrim is terribly overrated without even playing it. (he got a lot of flame from the rest of his friends) He only played Oblivion and didnt like it (i can see why he is skeptical about skyrim). He thinks Ocarina of time is better than Skyrim. and i just dont know how to talk to this dude.

Not played it yet, but looked at some of the graphics. Good graphics is not defined by how much technology is used or the number of polygons used, but rather how it is pleasing to the eye. It takes a good 3D artist to make something look beautiful whilst being friendly on the hardware. Sacrificing polygons somewhere means they can be spent elsewhere. The real skill is to do more with less. Oblivion looked horrible in places compared to what we can see from Skyrim.

I really want this game, however, it's one of my policies to not buy myself stuff coming up to Christmas.

AWESOME GAME.

But... I'm kind of disappointed in the storytelling and lore. Then again, I think I've become too cynical to enjoy any hollywood plotline. I'm tired of the same old crap with good versus evil, and this storyline is no different. (parts can be summed up with "LOOK AT HOW I CAN USE BOOK!" and <insert fuzzy excuse for logic here> )

So... the storyline is meh as far as video games go, and the gameplay... I honestly don't think it has changed much. The graphics and attention to detail are where this game is amazing.

I thought the fighting was much improved. I never felt so satisfied swinging my right axe in a person's face and then swinging my left in their chest as they stagger back. The graphics in general also improved gameplay, smoother animations, GUI, effects (especially magic, now you can tell the difference between spells), etc.

I thought it was better,i now feel more directly involved in the plot aside from oblivions where it is: the king told you to do this, DO ET

now I <AM> something SPECIAL.

which i like!

I think Lord of the Rings movies have popularized medieval RPGs. Those movies brought sword and sorcery to the mainstream.

I havent even started the main quest, ive been doind sidequests and i think Skyrim does a much better job at Lore and storytelling than Oblivion.

Also speaking of LOTR, something occured to me. i would have NEVER agreed with this idea before playing Skyrim but.... They should make an elder scrolls movie! and if they do it right, it could turn out to be as good asLOTR movies.

and finally, a wise person of the internet said this:

"In any other game, these are glitches are bugs.
In Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, these glitches are features."

Max Payne was a good game movie. If Beth had a budget and if they hired Peter Jackson to direct it, it might turn out very well

So... Finished the main questline earlier today. It was brilliant.
So much more to do. So much. My quest book is still choking on around 30 other quests. Only other questline I have done is the companions guild quest.
Which has some interesting rewards about an hour into it

I've liked how they have made you be an actually somebody in this game. And you really do realize how immensely powerful you are getting. In a big fight? Call down lightning to smite your foes. Want to prove how badass you are? Call a fregin Dragon down. Shout somebody off a cliff.
Set dozens of people on fire with a word in the dragon language.
It really is quite fun. And while I like it how the developers have given you all this intense powers at your disposal to easily defeat your enemies, it is still a challenge, because you have to use your powers wisely. Otherwise it just wont work

Game of the year IMO. Some bits are really quite tricky though, I'm considering putting the difficulty down for the mission I'm on - it really is best to take your time and plan your tactics, but the power moves can really catch me off guard.

Skyrim could well be the most epic game ever though, I mean epic in it's actual sense - massive battles, dragons fighting lions fighting giants fighting skinny little twerps with daggers. I like the way that they've done everything - except maybe buying and selling, lost count of how many times I've went and bought a load of stuff instead of selling it.

Btw to get back to my thoughts on an elser scrolls movie, One of the reasons for this idea is tht i witnessed a lot of very cinematic scenes while playing the game. For example, me dodging fire antonarch spells like a baws, Barley avoiding the firery explosive hargraven spells like a baws, me having a magic duel with another wizard like a baws, me taking on 3 other dudes in a sword fight (yeah not too cinematic but i try making my swordfights looking badass) also, a massive fight between npcs with 10 vharecters on each side. i had this kind of a thing where 10 NPCs most of which are mages taking on the city guard, and the mages blasting spells all over the place and piercing the guards with magic icicles which knock them off a bridge just looked so epic, i thought, if a movie was made out of this, it would be pretty good. The wonderful soundtrack helps greatly. And i have not even battled a single dragon yet, i am afraid to imagine how badass those would look if stiff i already witnessed looks insanley awesome already

speaking of dragons, IMO the dragon fights are pretty... dissappointing, theyre stiff and usually have 2 attacks in total, and they either fly around doing nothing or stand still waiting for you to strike..

BAWS=balls in Scotland. I imagine he means Boss though

I am actually glad the dragon fights are quite easy, if they were too hard, then it would just get tiresome. I've not had a dragon fight that I didn't enjoy - the 2nd one had a Giant weighing in against it as well, the 3rd one was too busy fighting all the tigers and bears to worry too much about my piddly little arrows, then an NPC stabbed it in the neck with a dagger before I could harvest it's soul.

Well, tomorrow's the day where I finally transfer the the 55 bucks to my bank account and order this masterpiece from Amazon.

Spent countless hours with Oblivion and with Fallout 3, especially with the first, and I'm quite certain that I'll spend at least double the amount of time with this monument of modern video game history.

If there's one developer that I will continue to throw my money at them, it's definitely Bethesda, they never cease to impress.

Had two freezes on the 360 and some slow down when particles go mad. Other than that it's been fine so far with my 25 hours play. My mate has it on the PC and has been playing for nearly 50 and reported about 20+ crashes to desktop so far. Can't be incompatibility with his machine because its brand spanking new build.

Apparently you can fix the crashing by setting your sound properties to 24bit 44100 Hz ( Studio Quality )

Anyway, already tweaked the .ini files. There's alot more prettyness to get from the game which they don't offer in the options menu

I'd say more chance of a crash there. Young drivers, new technology etc. When I get this and run it on my old piece of junk, I'll report back on crashes.

You really get used to blocking when you need to in game.
Especially if you get the perk that slows down time when they are swinging a power attack at you.
Block, smack them with shield, lop of their head.

I have too many shouts now, but I really want the one that freezes people. Haven't found that. I should really do the word wall quests.

Got 24 Dragon Souls waiting to be used...
