I have a very hard time coming across money I can spend on model packs, usually takes me some number of months to get enough for ONE, unless I get a small windfall of cash from somewhere. So, I take free stuff when it's offered if it suits my needs, and even then I accept it reluctantly, because I don't like having to compile a list of credits, A) because I forget people's names, and B) I want to be able to say I made the game,
and no one else. That is how I feel about free media. Getting back to model packs, I don't complain about them. Let's face it, the prices are outrageously unreasonable.
But I don't complain. Why?
Because the prices are unreasonable in our favor!!! $20 for over 200 gaming assets. Unbelievable. I just bought MP 49; the office pack, and I CANNOT BELIEVE it was $15!!!

Welcome to the next generation; the ME ME ME! generation.

I think we are all blessed to just have discovered TGC! Cheap model packs, good game dev software, friendly forums, what could be better!

Thank you CP for not leaving. We are all... well, most of us anyway - are
very grateful of what you have offered.

I hope I don't annoy you or otherwise by asking this question, but that wouldn't happen to be the person who accused you of stealing that character mesh, would it?

Are you saying you give out all this stuff simply because we want it!!!
CP, you are
too kind.

I hope to aspire to that point someday. In the mean time (and when I get time

), I'll hand out free stuff to get feedback and see what I need to improve on. It won't be soon though.

Sage advice for the young,
CP. Well said.

Yes, as we
always should be. I think this drying up of free media is actually good; it'll teach the new people how to model and to appreciate those who give out free stuff and those who take the time to teach us noobs how to do it.

Oh if anyone is interested, The paper was Titled "The Effects Of Trolling""
Congratulations! So who was trolling?
Quote: "Wow.. Congrats on your new community credibility rating of zero.
I'm guessing the further effects will be AUP 3.12 and an all expenses paid vacation :/ "
Thank you for starting this thread
ZP. I have been able to pick up some good insight from those more experienced to help me in my wonderful adventure of making games.
Sincerely,
Captain Coder
EDIT: Just saw the new post about how the paper was a joke. Didn't mean to prolong the discussion of it.
One of the most humbling days in your life will be the day you discover you AREN'T the best at what you love to do.
