Yes they are related, I've been selling those tutorial DVD's for a while. They are designed to get novice users up to speed on the basics, once they are up to speed they can progress with the free tutorials I release on youtube.

any tutorials on memblocks? because the past few days ive been digging trough the forums looking to learn memblocks. Now i am trying to actually apply them by placing a small 3d model in a memblock but it would be sweet if you have anything on memblocks, i would buy you dvd if you had them (as soon as i my papypal account stops being a jerk to me)

No I've never covered memblocks, I'll make a note. Perhaps I'll do it once I've created the new AppGameKit tutorial, finished the sprite tutorials, added a couple more C++ and started the new HTML5 series.

Enticing...

I think memblocks are a thing of wonder...

Hands on dark basic covers them in depth if I remember correctly...

The important thing to remember about memblocks is that they change with the media you bring into memory, they are simply a way of addressing data directly. So you can load a .X file and alter a vertex, this can be used to modify an object at will. Or you can bring in an image file, and alter it so that a pixel or series of pixels will change color. You can even just store your own data into it and save it as a file. Memblocks are simply about having control over the content of the data loaded into memory. So half the battle is understanding the data structure involved.
