I didn't say I wanted to see an actual script, I said it's impossible to judge whether a movie is going to be good or not from a list of facts about the movie.

For example, if your film was lord of the rings, this is how you are describing it:
Somebody loses a ring and finds it again.

This is obviously completely unhelpful, despite being factually correct. You don't need to go into detail about all the subtleties of the plot, you just need to add some explanation about why the viewer should care, maybe a bit of explanation about the characters background, why the ring is important, what the consequences will be if they fail, what challenges they face, etc.

Let's look at what you just wrote about your 2nd idea:
"So far I got a assassin that hunted down a mafia and has the mafia brought back to life by an alien."

Why do I care? Who is the good guy? WHY did the assassin hunt down a mafia (also, this makes no sense)? Why are there suddenly aliens in what previously seemed like a realistic portrayal of the world?

By not explaining anything the only conclusion anyone reading this can come to is that your explanation of them in the film is either terrible or non-existant.

That's exactly what I meant and is a lot more helpful! It seems like it could actually work out reasonably well. You will have to be careful because the story has quite a lot of science-fiction elements, so you have to explain about that right from the start, or it will seem to someone watching that you've suddenly changed the rules on them half-way through.

Again, there are lots of traps you could fall into, such as being too detailed on some technical aspects while not giving enough detail in other areas, which would ruin it, but aside from a few grammatical errors (are you using a translate tool?) the plot seems like it could be made into a decent film.

It is very hard to read your stories. Keep studying the punctuation.

It is red because of the number of posts. It is a "hot" topic.

Also, you missed the comma that I just put in.

I guess there can be a lot of grammatical things I can learn. Well when I'm a junior in High School I can learn. I don't know grammar.

For $5700 I would have made you a good story, not too expensive to film.

Why do you think that? Not to crush hopes, but what gives you the idea that your movies will be special. No offence but a lot of people make movies and write scripts and submit them but don't score a big deal like Paramount Pictures or Warner Bros, the film industry is full of broken dreams. Don't stop dreaming, but can you really be absolutely 100% sure that they will like your movie and you're going to make lots of money.

I'm sure it'd be freaking awesome if you did, just as it'd be awesome if I could score an awesome book deal with a publisher, but I know that's hard.

Yup, absolutely serious. I mean sure, London's the capital and everything, and it's got all the big famous cinemas, but Hull is definately the film epicentre of Britain.

Hull.

Okay, here's a tip. When typing out currency, the $ sign goes before the numerical value.

Ex: $6,900(.) with a period at the end being optional, although most people don't put it.

Huh, I never knew that Hull was actually called Kingston up Hull. You learn something everyday.

And I'm joking, obviously. I just though it was funny the way you asked if London is still the most 'popular' city in Britain, like there's been some kind of phone vote.

London is definitely a popular place.

Have you not thought about attending film festivals? Maybe talk to other movie makers and see what advice you can learn from them, see what kind of things other people are doing and so on. There's a Los Angeles Film Festival isn't there?

Do some research? I think if you're going to make your films you'll need to learn to do some.

Keep in mind, you should shoot a film within your means. This is very important for indie filmmakers. Everything is a lot harder than it seems, trust me. And if you want it to be taken seriously, then keep in mind your ages and what you are capable of. The first couple years of my own shooting I only made videos where it is plausable for the characters to be young (ex. murderers, drug overdose, etc). We never tried to make an epic space opera, simply because it wouldn't be the product we wanted it to be.

Not to deter you from your dream, but trust me, it's so much easier to start simpler and build your way up. Try writing and shooting a short film where it needs NO SPECIAL EFFECTS. Maybe no more than three locations. Two or three characters MAX, and their interactions.

Use a free program like Celtx (Google it) to write a script roughly in the same format as film (there's way more to it, but it's a good start).

Film is a visual medium, tell the story as much visually as you can. Audio is just as important, but the visuals should be able to tell the story on their own, not necessarily in obvious ways. Different elements can tell the story through their subtext. For example, in the Matrix, whenever they went into the Matrix, they gave it a subtle green hue, and detailed the sets with as many grid-like patterns to emphasize the artificiality of it.

Also, watch the show "Film Riot". You can find this on Youtube. This show is immensely helpful for any amateur filmmakers, and serves pretty much as a pre-Film School. Trust me, I know.

Just remember, start out with something of quality, but smaller. Believe me, that will be more than enough if you really want to pull it off. Aim for 200%, you'll be lucky to come back with 90%. This is how it always goes.

ALSO: Have fun.

There's a good cheep short film on 8 legged Freaks about a spider. The Blair Witch project was cheaply made. Paranormal Activity. Evil Dead was made in a sort of shed. You could watch Star Trek the Motion Picture to see early CGI implementations, and Star Wars also had some of the first CGI. Braindead is a zombie related cheap movie.
