You might also want to check out Flattr. Micropayments again, but they've got quite an innovative idea.

Basically you subscribe and pay £X a month and then you can 'Flattr' people. At the end of the month whatever you pay gets shared between all the people you've Flattred.

i haven't actually used it, but afaik yes. But it doesn't use credit cards at all. It only uses EFT which is why the fees are so low / free
