Story

Steven Kane; just another ordinary 36 year old employee at U-Corp - part of the 'quantum leap' project (aptly named after the tv show). I was being paid to work as part of a small team, trying to discover the truth behind time travel! Time travel i hear you say......i know, i was dubious at first, but, we really found something. John - the guy that leads the team - has had us working day and night ever since that first trial was successful. He says the next trials should involve humans, but, we all know that the FDA would never approve such an idea.

John pulls me over to one side to have a quiet chat and we agree that we need to move the testing further. I put myself forward as a guinea pig (i hate that phrase). I agreed to meet him late that night at the labs.

We had discussed the possibility of sending me forward Ten minutes where i could leave a note........ no time like the present (excuse the pun)

I arrive at the U-Corp building that night..........

Screen shots

Videos

Special thanks

Budokaiman - (Mystic mod, scripting, keeping me sane!)

Ched80 - (scripting)

PekelaarSFX - (Voice acting)

Cosmic Prophet - All of the amazing SciFi media used

PB - gorgeous segments

NBT - sewer stuff

If i have missed anyone (I am sure i have), please feel free to comment underneath - or email - and i will add you to the list. This game is far from over. This is just the demo

There are still a few bugs that need crushing, but, i just wanted to get something ready for people to play.

Known bugs

*When the video plays on the first level, the music from the menu screen is still playing. - Fixed (video removed)

*When pressing 'E' on the PDA the game loads the 'eyehud.png' (damage HUD) - Fixed (on all but one)

*In level 3, you start in the middle of nowhere........just let yourself die and you will be placed inside the level where you should be. - Fixed

*In one or two of the levels, the music dips out and a faint clicking sound can be heard.

There may be a few more bugs. I am in the process of trying to crush them all, but, i needed to get an actual game built.

Thoughts and feedback is always wanted.

Mr Valentine is very kindly hosting my game! No more needing to sign up to download!

Hey man, when you start the first level, it tells you that a video failed to load. Upon that, the loading screen music
gets real loud and repeats over actual gameplay. You cannot hear what the main character is saying at all. Level 2 also crashes upon
loading.

Specs for PC I'm on:

AMD Phenom II X4 2.7ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia 9800 GT 512MB
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I don't believe its the PC that I'm using. Sorry for the bad news.

@ASTEK

Thanks for the heads up man. I am currently working on those particular bugs! It doesn't crash my end, but, it has crashed on someone elses. so, it might be the video itself.

Like i said i am working on it.

Oh, is your graphics card X10 compatible?

Sorry man.

I have fixed the link now. The video was causing a problem with a few people for some reason. I have now removed the video from the story zone. If you wanted to see the video. It is above. (2nd video down in the first post)

lol kind of disappointed that something that was obviously designed for a signature was used as an intro for a trailer.

Pretty good stuff so far non the less, I like the story.

Sorry man. My 2D art skills aren't as good as yours. Plus, after you went to the trouble of making the signature for me, I didn't want to be asking you to do more artwork for me.

If you want to, please, feel free to contact me. I do need to make a new trailer.

im downloading the game, looking at the trailer it looks awesome, great job unfamilia. i noticed one thing in the trailer, you had a flashlight that didn't light the entire area, only a certain area like a real one would. may i ask you what script you used for that flashlight? and how you made it work? i can't seem to make any i find work. please and thank you.

Thanks for the comments. In regards to the torch, i searched in the forums and came across one that Srealist had put together for people using X10. Found here But, i don't know how well this would work outside of X10.

Thanks again for the comments.

Very nice! The screenshots on your site are awesome.

Couple of questions, if you don't mind me asking. The red laser beams and the glass door/wall (lobby) that you have, did you make them or get them from the fpsc forums? I did a search and can't find either.

Thanks and keep up the great work!)

Thanks for the feedback.

The laser beam was made by me. The lobby doors were part of the latest office model pack.

Have you played the game yet?

(Double Post, sorry)

So I got to level 5 where you get the photon glove. But... where do I go from there? I think I honestly may have cheated a bit, because I threw the teleport disc into the room, because I had no clue what the keypad combo was. And then... I couldn't get out. Was I supposed to get the combo? Not sure.

Other than that, I quite enjoy the game. My first time through (until it started crashing), I didn't find the pipe at the start of level 5, so I died because I couldn't fight the little things. But second time through, I got it.
The atmosphere is really good, love the pop-ups with the controls on them. The voice acting was iffy, but understandable.

Thanks for reviewing it. I am glad you liked bits of it.

The parts you mentioned are small known bugs (such as the pipe at the beginning of level 5).

Quote: "I think I honestly may have cheated a bit"

This made me chuckle!

As you enter the room that has the controls to lift the cage so you can get to the Photon Glove, there is a small cabinet behind you (as you are facing the photon glove) and there is a PDA on it that gives you the code for that door.

It still makes me laugh to think that you cheated by throwing the teleporter through the gap to get the glove! haha.

All of this feedback really helps as i am working a game for the August BOTB. I am taking aspects of this game and making a Cartoon-ish version. Difficult to explain, but, you will see in the coming weeks when i put up a WIP thread.

Thanks again for taking the time to play and write a review.

@Fallenstranger

Thanks for the comment. The lasers aren't in any model pack, they are an entity that i made myself. I am releasing a model pack soon full of all the models I created and need to create for this game. The lasers will be in that.

The model pack will be free for the community.

Mega thanks! I will improve the site layout soon, and eventually allow you to manipulate your individual section, images text etc and youtube embedding, though I have better alternatives such as HTML5 video... and Silverlight... I will stick to the same clean and clear layout and it might be some time before I do improve it all but hopefully more users will take up the offer, I am more than happy to continue this project for others, it will never close down as long as my business is around!

I have a url I am dedicating to the project to make it simpler to link to and shorter, it is http://www.tmsubs.co.uk/...

Anybody wanting to put their projects up, let me know...

Again thanks unfamillia for taking up the offer! I hope you will release a new project soon!

I will get cracking on and working hard! There is a LOT of work to do as i am porting it over to X9 from X10. Most of the leg work is already done (scripts, 2D work, sounds etc)

I should be able to work out some of the bugs at the same time as remaking it.

@Anyone that is watching this thread, please leave as much feedback or comments on the game to help me make this better! I know there are issues in the game, but, i need others points of view to show me what else needs changing or amending
