I watched Revolutions tonight in a packed cinema which was good, I like the way that enhances a film.

Anyway, it was kinda strange.. much much better than the 2nd one, which I personally thought was utter junk (fight, get all pseudo-philosophical, fight, talk more crap, fight, repeat..) but somehow it just wasn't up to the first one.

There are too many threads left "hanging", bits of it I just didn't get at all.

Having said that - the closing credits sound track is superb. The massive fight scene when they are defending the Dock is quite simply stunning on an effects level, the fight between Neo and Smith at the end is like a film version of Akira or something - bloody impressive.

But ultimately we left the cinema feeling "huh?"

Cheers,

Rich

Umm...did you see the same reloaded I did? LOL - it SUCKED, to be frank. Revolutions beat reloaded by far. However, the first Matrix remains the best, the sequals combined don't remotely equate.

Yeah, we really are. The movie was good up until that feeling.

I just saw it for the second time tonight. And now I'm confident that it was the best film of the three.

All the loose ends were tied up. No questions, except what is going to happen next.

The visual effects were unbelievable. The only way you would think they were cgi is by saying "they can't do that with live action," and knowing it was cgi, but it was photoreal all the way.

The plot was great, great ending, I loved the movie.

Sorry, heh. If they spent more time on that, it woulda been better. ya good movie...first ones teh best though. Just becuase it started the whole thing

Wow, what differences of oppinions! I don't see how the visuals can be both perfect, photo-realistic, and clay DB, all at the same time!
If comments come out as, "The closing credits soundtrack was superb!" Then I get worried. Anyway, I think that I will love this movie because I love Reloaded!

Cant stand packed cinemas - when I went to see Goldeneye when it premiered in London, I was near some French girls who kept nattering most of the way through the film. Its why I always wait a week before seeing anything. If its not quiet, I'm not happy.

Sounds like the same problem as in the second one - seems they skimped a bit on the computer graphics.

I thought it was the best of the three. The ending was not gay like in Return of the Jedi.

Your mind will be chewing on the entire trilogy for years to come - I think the entire thing was well done.

I liked it, thought it was cool, definately made up for the peice of crap that was reloaded.

Anyone else seen this AND end of evangelion? notice the massive massive similarity in endings? (also the smith fight is directly out of DB ) I know they do like anime though so this makes sense...

I liked it.

I saw it last night, was ok i guess, much better than the 2nd, but I think the ending (though it made sense) was done poorly, and the cg in teh fight scene very reminiscent of dragon ball z sucked. and besides that, I mean neo dies to save the humans and make peace, but I mean that is all in vain, two months later when the humans recover and rebuild their town, they are gonna go ok release people from the matrix and the robots will say no they are our power source, then a war will erupt again, thi stime humans will get their shig ruined harder. so overall it was a stupid way to end. And for those of you who think this is a spoiler well I laugh at you, I mean who didnt see neo winning and saving the humans as an ending

Ok, thank for the spoiler alert there Uberwiggett robx

Ok, SPOILER ALERT!

Fact is DBZ isn't the only show/movie to ever use arial combat, in fact the neo smith fight is more like X the movie rather than DBZ, if either threw a energy attack then you could say it was a copy of DBZ. As for the peace, it will last. The Aritech said that all the people that wanted to be released from the matrix would be, there are still a ton of people who would rather stay. Remember that an agent can "poseses" anyone who doesn't want to leave the matix, those that do want to leave are a minority. The computers will still have plenty of power. Pease is wanted by all sides, except those who have something to lose from it (the french man) I'm sure that nogotiations and treaties we be formed eventually, hell, they might even start returning the sky to it's previous state. All in all, it raps up rather tightly, no loose ends.

The aerial fight reminded me of the 300th episode of the simpsons where Homer fights Tony Hawk in mid-air with a skateboard. Seriously, that's the first thing that came to mind.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure DB came before X. Not that I'm condoning any kind of appreciation towayrds the series'.

For me the CGI unrealism rather spoilt parts of the Reloaded multiple-Smiths fight scene. I would have much prefered it if they had not tried to push CGI so far. The actual models looked pretty realistic, but the animation was a bit naff.

And there were series before DBZ that used arial bouts, dbz was not the first to this, nor will it be the last. It's just that DBZ has been over marketed in America to the point where if anything remotely resemples it, it coping. The seires is nearly 20 years old, how often do you compair movie/TV shows with that kinda gap between them like we are doing here. Just cuz there's super fighting does mean that they're coping DBZ, it just that DBZ was the most suscessfull at doing it first.

The fact is the only thing remotely DBZ about the fight was that they were in mid air. They didn't hover in place and throw thousands of punches, kick, and blockes. Half the time they were grappled and spining all around.

lol omg what a spoiler i gave away, he fights agent smith, and then he brings peace between the robots and humans, did any of you guys see the trailer? do any of you have any clue as to what's going on? the tralier shows him fighting smith, and anyone with half a brain would know that the movie will end up with neo saving the humans from dying. and teh reason i said it was dbz was because in dbz they fly around fighting with those big balls of power etc doing all super moves then pulling a cool looking pose, thats exactly what happened in the fight, they fly around in the rain fighting each other stopping every once in a while so agent smith had lightning behind him while he struck a cool pose. and then when they hit each other big balls of what looked like glitch ripples int eh rain made huge spheres of water erupt around them. i dont like dragon ball z and i dont like that fight. the whole thing i didnt like about number 2 and part of number 3 is that keanu goes from being the buffest haxzor ever to this wimpy pussy who wets his pants when a robot comes near him. The matrix is just like any other video game, so howcome neo cant totally haxzorz with wall hacks and stuff? sure it wasnt in the story but still! anyway i have to go.

There is NO WAY we could have known that would have happened. The Matrix is filled with twists and the fact that Neo comes back to life in the original makes this option less-likely.

Agreed, I found the movie very well rounded. I wasn't surrprised about Noe or Trinity dieing, well, maybe surrprised but not shocked, of couse I watch alot of anime though. The Wachowsky Brothers had enough creativity to actually create an ending that people may not like. They realize even though there are thousands of die-hard fans out there, they are writing it the way they want it, they weren't about to sell out.

and some things i didn't get, but someone maybe able to help me out (i could do to really watch it again)-

maybe watching it a second time may clear this up, but i doubt i'll end up paying £5 to watch it again.

Well I thought the Wachowsky Brothers could have done it a bit differently...

Despite being a good movie, Revolutions IS NOT water tight, there are severel plot holes that I though should have been resolved.

I thought the beggining was a bit choppy, but once you got passed the first 30 mins, and the battle at the gate begins, its heaven...

Also, the computer that directs the machines attacks is increadbly stupid... There are several moments when the HUGE clouds of machines can just fly in to the mechs and easily destroy them...but they insist on flying around in circles....

But I have noticed something... with the third movie, there has been a lot less emphasis on "The Matrix"... how many times in the movie do they focus on the matix until the end.

SPOILER

However, I feel the ending when neo dies was a quality event in cinima, however, the Wachowsky Brothers didn't follow through with that emotional movement and instead focused on the Oracle (who was a diff actor by the way) and the Architect talking, which i felt ruined the moment...

Again though, I feel this movie is good but NOT water tight...

Spoilers

A) Kinda hard to use the same actress when she is dead

2) It did explain how Neo could use powers in reality, he is connected to the Source. That why he can attack the robots or see them but not fly or heal people in the real world. He's connected to the robots not the world.

3) The robots will not resume the attack, they have no reason to. As Arcitech said "What do you think I am, a human?" Attack on the matrix will be stopped since he's releasing all that would be rescued from the matrix. Also remember that the sentinals aren't just attack machines, they all can think just like we do, they are considered "living" the loses an both sides in the Dock conflick was heavy. The machines want peace as much as the humans did.

Just saw it and thought it as great, I didn't really have a problem with end-fight at all. Looked realistic enough although I must wonder how Agent Smith learned to fly o_O

P.S. I can't believe they had ANOTHER rave scene rofl.

When Agent Smith aborbed the oracle he gained the fundmental knowlege of the matrix. Since he then knew what the rules were and how they worked, it would be an easy tast to break them. That's also explains how he could beat Neo alone without having to team up on him.

Revolutions was excellent in a special FX sense, but average as a film for the most part. The exception is the final Neo & Smith fight at the end, that was probably the most impressive showdown I have ever seen.

in "Reloded" Smith said "you are a part of me"... and in "Revolution" the oracle said Smith was Neo, like an evil twin (what i got from it)... so Smith really didnt beat Neo in the end... when Neo was assimilated by Smith, it brought the two opposite halfs of Neo together... something like positive and negetive being put together, they cancel each other out.

I think what happend was the machines infected Neo with some kind of virus, destoying Smith at the sourse.

Some interesting theories there, I guess the problem with the film was that they didn't explain it enough and like others said, there were lots of loose ends not tied up.

I thought it was a pretty good ending - the sunsrise was slightly overdoing it, but I suppose as child did it, happy that there was a peace, it could be forgiven.

Indeed dude...

The only loose end I found was the fact that we wont be knowing what happens doing the peace. I certainly woudn't mind some more - shame there wont be.
