Steam have a massive sale on over christmas as per usual but they are also running a gift pile promotion where you complete tasks to get free stuff. I already have a 25% off voucher and The Witcher from it just for checking my inventory.

Can't argue with free stuff, but i'm afraid my bank account might suffer a little bit.

Yes I've already grabbed a heap of games I had wishlisted. I can't get the gift thing to work. I apparently earned 3 but nothing shows.

The gift thing won't let me unpack my gifts but they are still added into my library. Might just be because the server is getting hammered though.

EDIT: Actually, now might be a nice time to get each other on steam and trade our unwanted gifts.

For some reason I honestly can not find anything worth buying but... why wont they reduce Mirrors Edge... damn £12.99 or something... (roughly $20)

The reason I want Mirrors Edge is because it has amazing and inspirational environment and colour design...

You should get PayDay: The Heist as it's on special and currently my favourite game, intense 4 player co-op fps action!

Agreed, unfortunately I got it when it was full price...

Then I bought Orcs must die
Then I bought 2 Add-ons for Orcs must die

And now I need to complete the challenges in the games to get more gifts

Definitely. It's the only game that I bought from the first day of the sale, even though Just Cause 2 and the Fable games are on sale. My gifts were 50% off any Valve title and 50% off Defense Grid: The awakening, if anyone wants them.

Yeah, my profile name was Feanor before, but now I changed it back to DeltaMeter. I never really got why Steam has different names for accounts and display names.

I've timed buying Christmas presents for friends on Steam well, for £25 I got my friend Bastion, Cthulhu Saves the World, Breath of Death VII, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, Limbo...another friend Limbo and myself Limbo and the original Fable. They were on sale, so I had to snag myself a deal too.

I've not bought any of the packs yet though, nothing there has quite caught my fancy.

@Quik: I'd recommend not playing that right away. The current version is pretty broken, the HD version should be out in a couple of weeks.

Agreed, so far I've managed to get a loading screen, which is progress from when it was originally released on Steam.
