You didn't say that though. Your best bet is to reinstall your OS if you want to be completely sure, otherwise, find the process in task manager, locate it, end the process and delete the file.

Whats OS?

And how can I tell in Task Manager? I know that its suppose to be a copy of the internet program. But I'm not so sure if it is, it doesn't seem like it. It's like figuring out how to stop a bomb from exploding. Red wire? Blue wire?

You should back up your important documents on a removable drive. I'd not recommend putting any executables on there though.

Doesn't always work that way.

Have you tried running a virus scanner like Avast?

i'd say, more like tellnig the bombs squad to throw it in the ocean.

at any rate: reinstlaling is the ONLY way to know yorue completly safe. And you cant always delete the file since it might have gotten stuck in one of your system files

Try some alternate virus software such as AVG or Avast. You really don't want to reinstall Windows unless you have to.

Umm, that's what they actually do a lot of times. Though in a controlled environment.

And your question is rather vague. All you said was your computer blocks malicious sites and malwarebytes scans show nothing on your computer. How do you delete virus. What I gathered from that is your PC is running just fine as you didn't state anything that sounded like you had a virus.

That's the lazy man's response to a virus. It's fine in a corporate environment because we can just reload an image onto the PC which is quicker than tracking down a *real* solution. But for home computers, I find it often to be needless.

What are the symptoms? Why do you believe you have a virus?

My main advice would be for in future, stick some decent internet security on your system. Malware bytes is great and definitely worth keeping. I found when I had a virus, it was a serious problem because it stopped Kaspersky (which is normally VERY good), malware bytes and other AV software from working and also it stopped them from updating and they couldn't function properly or get rid of the virus permanently. I downloaded the 30 day trial of NOD32 (aka Eset) and I was able to get it to update, scan and delete the virus leaving Malware bytes to update and finish the job.

I know some people prefer free software, but that's the ONLY incident I've had when I've had to work out how to solve the problem when encountering malicious softtware since paying for internet security.

It's true, the microwaves will actually track down the virus and delete it! Along with everything else too!
