Oookay never knew we could not bump a thread... what gives BiggAdd?

Anyway I pressumed starting a new thread was spam but bumping a thread was fine as it reduces number of created threads and I did wait a week to bump it... the forum seems kinda quiet recently...

Anyway heres a link to my previous thread which hopefully wont dissappear under the new dictatorship regime...

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=192961&b=2

please comment and crit thanks...

I think it was locked to prevent further bumping, if it has reached that far down then I guess not enough people are interested to keep it afloat. Generally it is discourage to post advertisements to your websites anyway, except in specialist cases. I think the best you can do is leave info in your sig and see if it interests people through there like you've mentioned all your other stuff in your wiki.

But my thoughts here are: It's a nice idea, but I don't think people are posting because there's other codebases out there (not just on TGC's site) and Wikis have been attempted in the past including the official TGC wiki.

Because your previous thread was locked and you referred to the mod action as part of a 'new dictatorship regime', which might be considered an insult. It's not anything new, bumps have never been allowed and nor are spam threads - it's all a part of keeping the place tidy.

Oh... got me confused as I see others bumping... thanks buddy for the headsup... ok he can lock this one too then I will keep things in my sig... though I have talked with BatVink about my community project just need to get the info completed then I can launch it properly...

Haha the regime bit was a joke so hope he sees the humour there...

I never have spam intentions so hope nobody had any misunderstandings... just wish he would explain before locking... as that is indeed a bit rude no matter what anybody says... think about it... you go to a library the opening times are 9-5 and you get there at 3 and they dont let you in... same scenario...

Anyway I have nothing against BiggAdd just wish he could take five seconds to at least explain in short and say please dont bump again or I will lock ... that is understandable...

I'm gonna assume the lock was for bumping. As for others bumping, unfortunately the mods aren't Big Brother, so they can see what everybody is doing all the time. I say 'unfortunately', I mean...1984 wasn't the happiest of novels and the TV Show of Big Brother is just hideous. So I guess we're fortunate TGC mods aren't Big Brother.

Anyhoo forgot to mention I either forgot about the TGC wiki... think I read about it in one of the newsletters or I totally forgot about it... but think maybe it was a long time ago no?

I'm not here to spoon feed you, I would have thought you were intelligent enough to figure out why we don't allow bumping, and why I locked your thread from a week ago.

But I guess I have to. A forum isn't a place where you have the right to force people to view the things you want them to.

A forum is a place for discussion based on popular topics. If your thread isn't deemed interesting to people, they won't post (That is how a forum works).
People don't want to see topics bumped to the top of the board they don't want to reply to, if they wanted to reply, they would have now.

I'll now give you a list of reasons why nobody responded:
http://code.google.com/projecthosting/
http://sourceforge.net/
https://github.com/
https://launchpad.net/

So in short, we don't allow double posting unless you are adding something new to the topic.
I've also slapped you for 5 days, as I refrained from doing so in your previous thread (as this isn't the first time you've been warned about bumping old threads).
