Well there's this guy on facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/shane.a.bell3

He's about the right age and the only person on Facebook that fits your description with that name and gives a middle initial. Of course, there's a bazillion results for shane bell, so you'd have to muddle through those.

Thank you Jerico. Alas he's not the guy that we're looking for.
But I really appreciate your efforts!

BTW I think we were on most of the common sites that you would visit in this case. That includes peekyou, intellius and many more. We fished out some phone numbers as well. Unfortunately most of them are dead now, but I still have a few left on my list.

I found some tips on the intertubes. You can request military records here:

http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/

Meh, looks like that site will be unhelpful as it would require a lot of info and other restrictions would apply

If you used a credit card watch the statements carefully as you are now most likely a monthly subscriber to their credit monitoring site. You may want to search online about Intelius scams. Don't even ask me how I know this as I would be ashamed to have to admit they got me

There are two kinds of computer users. Those that use Macs and those that wish they did.

I used a different side to receive some addresses and phone number, but thanks a lot for the warning!
