Hi

I have windows7 64 bit and DirectX 11 (according to dxdiag) Is this the SDK version or the runtime version mentioned here?

The latest DirectX SDK i could find on microsofts website is also installed. Since the SDK is labelled with dates, like june 2009 etc.
How can I tell which version the SDK applies too?

And,,, a couple of days ago I installed Duke Nukem forever, besides the game installed automatically, the installer also installed DirectX runtime version 9.0c (this was not optional it just did.)

I checked DXdiag again and it was still saying DirectX 11.
mmmm,,,, confusing.

Best regards

DxDiag shows the highest installed DirectX runtime, not all of the installed runtimes. When you install a DX SDK I believe the relevant DX runtime is also updated, though I'm not sure.

Aha! Thanks, that made things a lot clearer to me! I did not know that you could have several runtime libries installed at the same time. Thanks!

DX is a huge library... its called a library because it works just like a real world library... they just get added to the collection... if they placed every DX version into Windows... you might need more space for DX than the actual OS... somewhere over 100GB just for DX hehe but yeah it just install alongside the latest version

Which is why it is always a good idea to let older games install their Direct X Versions aswell if available.
