Hi, I'm having an issue in which I am unable to execute certain programs. You may have heard of it before, it's the one that won't allow you to use programs due to admin privileges even though you're an admin. I'm unable to fix this, so I'm asking you guys.

My knowledge on this is rather limited (darn Windows) but i might suggest one thing: log out then back in. I highly doubt it will help but i suppose it's worth a try!

Right-click and select "Run as Administrator"?

What "certain" programs are you trying to run? A little more info could go a long way in our helping you.

Hi Yodaman Jer, yes I am running as administrator. It still wont let me.
What I'm trying to run is a game called "Phobia - Fear of the darkness" from JonezGames made with fpsc. I was able to run it before yet It won't let me now.

If its an FPSC game you might have to run it in compatibility mode as well, I forget the settings but I know running Dark Basic Professional-made games on Windows Vista requires you to run them in compatibility mode, or at least it used to, and since FPSC is made with DBP, this may be the issue.

It's working now, I've tested it with and without compatibility mode on it and worked both ways. Don't know what the problem was before.

Damn you Microsoft! I hate you, but I can't live without windows 7!

Im now linking to my blog as the forum thread for this is locked due to it being forever, so people can still comment on my tutorial however the forum post link is still available on my blog...

here's the link you're referring to. this way people don't have to visit your blog to find a link back to the forum. frankly, i'm struggling to discern where your blog begins and ends, anymore.

btw, i thought there was a TGC forum around here somewhere... or is it just a melding of a couple different blogs that advertise themselves? can anyone help? i'm sure you can.

Extremely annoyed at your thoughtless response there Nomad... you should take the time to realise what you say and do... very annoyed by what you have said and it has irritated me all evening now... to top it off your post makes no sense whatsoever... just realise some people have little time to hunt for things when time is little... and It is easier to use my blog link than it is to link the forum via my phone and as I CLEARLY stated my post is still open for debate and if you bothered to know most books start at the top where I stated THE FORUM THREAD IS THERE should someone want it but its locked as mentioned here... eugh anyway im off to bed... you ruined my night with your thoughtlessness...

Well, you DO seem to mention your blog at every chance you get despite the various warnings from mods. It can be really annoying, especially when you could've just copy>pasted the relevant info into another post.

Anyway, this seems to have been resolved for now, right 3D Gamemaker?

I have 500+ visitors per day I am not concerned about getting visits... I just did not want to have both my inbox filled with win7 compatible threads and the forum... but guess that undermines everything... I did make clear the reason as well... if the forum thread was active I would continue to link there I have in the last few days mentioned both the forum and my blog until I realised the forum thread was locked automatically... guess convenience is stupid...

Anyway fine will just waste my time for everyones interest...

Woops forgot to mention that I can not edit the one on the forum either so if I wanted to modify it for typos or forgotten or newly diacovered solving then I would have to mention those with every post... if it makes any difference for you I will continue to link to both here on the forum if that satisfies you... dont see this as an issue as theres some trying to get traffic from the forum unlike me... [points at fpsc board] anyhoo yeah will mention both and as always make my CLEAR messages mentioned each time... though they still get ignored... no idea...
