Huh, didn't know 'Vlambeer' meant flame beer (it's what Google Translate is telling me), sounds like it could be an excellent beer.

You mean Steve the Mexican yapping dog from Russia?

I think chrome accidentally the whole translation. Either that, or they left out a lot of crucial details... "At the beginning of the game because he lies dead on the floor somewhere."

There is also a 1.2 minute timelapse on [href]http://www.vlambeer.com/ [/href]

Yup, a bloke called tha_rami, he still pops in every now and again actually. He was a graphics artist, and he also worked on Evochron if I recall correctly?

He was a really cool guy

AFAIK he is a tester on the Evochron games, not on the dev team. AFAIK Evochron is a one-man team. AFAIK I should never use AFAIK more than twice in the same post.

That's what I remember. INH, you really need to brush up on your stalking skills, you'll never enter the Great Stalkers' Society at this rate.

Oh yeah, I remember tha_rami. Wow, who'd have thought. I was in a cafe the other day doing a game jam with a few dudes, and Vlambeer's stuff popped up in conversation, around the same time the ubiquitous "So what stuff's been made in DBPro?" question. Now I have some more sweet ammo for my DBPro community rifle.

On that note, it would be really interesting to see where some of the users who have been around for donkey's ears have gone. I mean, surely some of us have converted our DB hobby into careers? I know of a few who have gone on to bigger stuff. I've been here almost 13 years now, and I'd love to catch up with some of the old firm!!

Don't forget to add:

Evochron Mercenary on Steam

That was made in DBP. Just back up ammunition if you need it.

Yeah true, I did use that the other day. Why does it feel like I'm always fighting for relevance with DBPro and Blender?? I gotta chill a bit more, methinks.

Are you still at uni, Sepp?

Evochron is really nice, did quite a bit of custom work for them - it uses DarkNet for its networking :o

but I think he has moved to PlayBasic, or is in the process of doing so.

Nah I graduated. I'm an unemployed graduate now. Well, had some phases of employment since leaving.

I'm guessing you guys missed the fact that Vlambeer's Ridiculous Fishing is a finalist at the IGF this year?

I'm fairly sure they don't use DBP, as Super Crate Box was made in GameMaker.

We were in the New York Times last week. That was pretty insane by all standards. We've got some big newscoming up from our side - I'll keep you all posted

If you're in the Netherlands, I can totally recommend Gamelab, by the way, Norion.

Either way, yeah, I'm still lurking - no, I'm not an artist (programmer, actually) and yes, Evochron is still lovely as always. Great to see it on Steam
