I don't frequent these forums as much as I used to but I remember TGC being a vibrant and fast-paced community with lots of helpful people. And, in my middle-teens when I was doing a lot of work with FPSC, I really enjoyed it here. By day, though, my trade is that of filmmaking.

With that in mind, I'd like to introduce you to 'Long Delayed Echo', my graduation film for university. We're shooting it in March, on super 16mm film. I'd really appreciate it if you could watch this promotional video:

To make this film a reality, we need to raise a lot of money. We have set up an Indiegogo fundraising page and would be honoured if any of you could donate to us, no matter how little.

We appreciate all donations, however small, and by donating, you could be eligible for one of our many 'perks' (essentially, free stuff that we'll give you to say thank you). To find out more about the project, and to donate, visit:

Thank you,

Also, you might find this of interest. It's some tests we shot on film:

Thanks Blobby!

Today we locked all of our locations, finalised our shot list and confirmed several of our principal cast. Only 9 days until we shoot! Keep those donations coming in!

I'm curious, what difference is there between shooting on film to shooting digital?

It's your last chance to do something amazing and donate any loose change you might have to my graduation film, 'Long Delayed Echo'.

We've had quite a few donations so far but we're really looking to raise a bit more before our campaign ends at 23:59PM Thurs 8th March. To donate go here:
http://www.indiegogo.com/Long-Delayed-Echo-Short-Film

Here's a promotional video I shot for it too:

We need your help to make this film. Though we are currently in preproduction, we desperately need your help to make this film a reality. Any donation, no matter how small, is appreciated and those who pledge larger donations will be eligible for perks ranging from Thank-You messages, to DVDs of the film, to tickets to our premiere at BFI Southbank.

To find out more, and to donate, please go to:

Thanks!

AE

P.S. @Indicium: I intend to make a video on the differences soon, but the shortest answer I can give it that film has better dynamic range and it more foregiving when it comes to overexposure. Also, the colour and saturation of images shot on film is very hard to replicate digitally. For the moment at least, film still offers the highest resolution moving-image format, though digital is catching up. The major downside is cost, and the fiddly nature of the processing. I'll go in to it in detail when I make the aforementioned video.

It all looks extremely professional. The promotional video is very atmospheric, the only possible thing I think you could improve is the sound quality of when people are talking, as it sometimes seemed a bit muffled. I know the shipping forecast is supposed to have a crackly radio sound to it, but somehow films manage to have those effects while what people are saying is still clearly distinguishable.

Anyway, the ambient sounds were very clear and everything else seemed perfect. Good luck with the filming!

Are you at Bournemouth uni then, in the media school? I went to Bournemouth uni. I remember it was voted as having the best look students in the whole of the country, 5 years in a row. That all came to an end when I left though, obviously.

The Arts University College Bournemouth to be precise, which is next door to BU. As for the student populus, they're not a bad bunch...

I see you're from Basingstoke. My dad used to work there. In fact I shot the finale of a 70-minute feature film I made there, although it was in a factory on a trading estate so hardly somewhere recognisable.

Well, when you need some film ideas, and can afford to pay me something, I have lots of film ideas just waiting to be made.
