Hey guys !

I've been thinking about what GPU I would like to buy lately, and I came across the 560 and the 6950. And after reading some reviews and comparing them + see how they perform on the 3D mark, I came to the conclusion that I am going for the 6950. But ATI doesn't support PHYX and CUDA. Missing those Nvidia things is the only thing that prevents me from buying the 6950.

So my question is: how important are CUDA and PHYX for PC games and game make software. Can I miss them, are the really necyserry ?

I'm still young at this area. So I hoped that you guys can give some advice

Thanks !

N.

I'd say go with the nVIDIA. They have better driver support and are higher quality *cough*fanboyism*cough*

By Higher Quality I mean it's probably less prone to breaking/malfunctioning.

CUDA and PHYX have made absolutely no difference to me, I used to have a nvidia card, I now have AMD, neither of those things has caused an issue. Also, for anyone saying AMD cards are prone to overheating, my sapphire 6850 has difficulty getting to 65 degrees at 50% fan.

Just go with Nvidia, it is overall the most supported one in games(Rage,...) Lets just remember the trouble with shaders on Radeon 4000 or the terrible drivers at Rage launch. And no, Nvidia does not overheat -.- I hate it when people just say stuff without any actual knowledge.

Thanks everybody

I'm glad to see so many response's.

Since the 6950 is faster than the 560, I think that I'm going for ATI.

As with the quality, I asked my father for some advice, and he told me that he has been using the same ATI GPU for the last 7 years. And it always functioned correctly. And also: its a fact that you get more power for your money with an ATI GPU.

Thanks

N.
