Does anybody know where I can download a good, free capture-card program for recording gameplay? I need something that doesn't have a lot of lag/frame-rate dropping and hopefully the ability to record microphone.

FRAPS is used for screen capture on PC games. I need something used for capturing and recording console activity.

This may be a dumb question, but do you have the actual hardware of a capture card?

You have to get an actual capture card then. If you don't need HD quality, you can get one from Amazon for $15 or something, and Virtual Dub is good for the actual recording.

I have a Dazzle, but VirtualDub doesn't work right for recording.

Huh? It works very good for me. You just have to be able to set it right. Has plenty of good supported compression formats. Take a look through the recording options and you will get some better quality with enough experimenting.
