I'm using XP. I was playing Total Annihilation, when between missions it just froze, with the standard Windows error window. Clicked close program, and a strange desktop welcomed me with i guess Windows95 folder icons, and that garbage bin (sorry i'm not English i don't know how do you call it exactly) thingy looks like some forgotten design as well.

I know it is kinda stupid to be bothered, but it all just looks so crappy that it sucks out my energy.

How could i do something about this? I tried restoring the system a day earlier, did nothing. Also, when i go to a folder's properties to change its icon, it shows the standard XP folder icon, but nope, that's not the one active when i click apply...

That is pretty odd, but kudos to getting some Total Annihilation rocking!

You could check in your Display Properties under Themes maybe? If I remember right... Been a while since I've used XP.
