I found a way to make the iPad 3 squeeze out just under 10 million polygons at near real-time speeds. Just imagine what the iPad 4 and 5 will be like.

That's pretty neat actually, I didn't think any tablets would be able to render that many polygons, at least not yet anyway.

Isnt it incredible how fast technology is developing? I mean if you stop and take a look at it, it's pretty darn advanced!! A lot of people take it for granted... 10 MILLION polys on something less than 1cm thick and battery powered?? Freaking amazing.

Makes me wanna chop potatoes!

If it gets better or is near a PS3 it'll eventually start "more" stealing sales from the consoles and portable consoles as well.

Ah, Sony's new 'PS4' will likely have much better graphics than any mobile platform could ever have... In terms of performance mobile computing will never replace desktop computing... It's just a matter of when the companies release new consoles i suppose...

Only in terms of performance though. The PS4 might well be nice, the Xbox720 might be awesome. But that doesn't amount to a hill of beans when everyone is playing casual games on mobile platforms instead. The marketplace is very different these days - I can't remember the last time someone said they needed a really good gaming PC. Let's not get all lofty with the PS4 and 720 (or whatever it's called) - Sony and Microsoft always promise us the earth, usually the earth equates to copying other console manufacturers with expensive peripherals... they think that the best way to stimulate gamers is to make them flail their arms like a zombie being attacked by a wasp.
