Hey guys,
I have wanted the old versions of Duke Nukem Forever to be released for a long time now, so I have started a campaign to get it released. I am trying to get the 1998, 2001, 2003 and 2006 versions out. If you wish to join, you can find the campaign on Facebook or the website.

Spread the word.

Haha...hahahaha!

They don't exist. They're vapourware by a now-liquidated company!

Didn't Gearbox obtain the game lock, stock and barrell, or did they just obtain the latest version?

Gearbox are in possession of all the old versions of the game, but when the fans ask for them, they give the stupid excuse of them "not running on newer PCs"

@Bruce3371
As I said, they have all of the versions.

But the older version were an even bigger pile of junk than the new...

And why would Gearbox waste time packaging a cack-handed series of failed game attempts for release? They'd earn nothing and would spend a lot of effort doing so.

Mainly so we have the resources from the old games, is the main reason I want the alphas. Fans could recreate them, and make a fan-made DNF that more resembled the 2001 version. Sounds a bit far-fetched I know, but it's possible. And I don't think it takes much work to put some files into a zip.

Several gigabytes of files? Wasting server space to host them?

Several gigabytes, that you would expect, as for server space. Either make it a temporary file, sites like fileplanet and gamefront would re-upload them. Or (although unlikely that they would do it) upload to a file sharing site.

They'd have to pay for that kind of storage.

Everyone has confirmed that 3D Realms made a series of junk piles in attempts to make this game. You're better off making your own media.

It's still worth a try to get them released.

It won't happen, because they're not fully tested by QA and it's not stable code. If you run one of these old versions and it deletes something on your hard drive, then Gearbox could have a lawsuit on its hands. This will never, ever happen.

No, because idiots will still sue.

Who would honestly want this media anyway? It was confirmed junk, just work on your own if you're honestly that dedicated to the cause...

For example I love playing older styled games and I honestly think the older Duke builds looked much cooler.
