Hi guys,

I like to tinker with electronics in my spare time, and I've decided to try and mod a broken ZX Spectrum +2 (faulty tape drive) and update it with a more modern MP3 input via my iPod. The +2 series didn't have an external audio option, so I'm attempting to do this my modding the electronics of the tape drive system to accept the data input directly.

@Daniel TGC

Nice work. I've written a couple of spectrum games in the past, on a +2A to be specific.

Good luck with this.

This is more like it. Excellent stuff! Would be even better if it could communicate through BT so you wouldn't even need to get the iPod out of your pocket.

Makes me want to get on with my pipe dream of making a MAME cabinet. ZX Spectrum emulation on a PSP and DS just doesn't quite cut it compared to a large CRT arcade cabinet. Ah, 37" CRT JetPac. Aaaaahhhh....

Cheers

It would be an idea to make the tape deck lid open up vertically, then slide the ipod into a slot built into the tape deck lid.
