Read it on slashdot, the founder of Marshall amps.

It is sad news. Marshall Amps are pretty awesome. As boring as it may sound but I've been around the Marshall factory, but it was actually pretty awesome, very informative and pretty interesting and it's nice to see how much care and quality control goes into his amps.

I am sure the music world will miss him.

RIP dude
as a sound engineer I disliked marshall's ground noise

as a guitarist I loved my marshal, the distortion was unparallelled and worth fighting ground hum to have.

he had a good innings. well played sir.

That doesn't sound boring at all. It sounds quite amazing!

My first amp was a Marshall about 16-17 years ago. Wish I still had it. Loved playing through it with my Strat. Could get some awesome crunchy blues sound from it.

Indeed, it is a sad day for guitarists. to the man that somewhat vicariously helped me learn to play guitar.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

It is. We got the tour because my Dad needed his amp fixed and the factory is only a 30 minute journey (it's only in Milton Keynes), so we dropped it off in person.
