Hmm, could be great fun. Though I wonder how much of this is up to interpretation? There are some versions of the future where we resort to a more primitive state. It could be my view of the future. If I could do that, I might be tempted to try something primitive surrounding ruins of an ancient technologically advanced society.

The compo is called 'Building the Future' and I was hoping it would inspire construction and design. But if you read the compo theme as "Finding a place to stay in a post apocalyptic world" (AKA Building shelters to survive!) then go for it.

Cheers!

Cool, well I'll try and be creative to try and compensate. I did make a start with a fairly basic makeshift home. I just realised I've not aligned the ground to the build properly (hence the one of the bricks look like it's floating) But this is the kind of thing I'm going for:

This sounds pretty fun! I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I'm trying to decide on whether to do just one large building, or possibly even a few smaller scale RTS style buildings. I've been meaning to make some RTS assets, so I'm leaning towards the latter. We'll see!

This is where I am so far. The trees are AEC objects in Max and I'm gonna try to model a couple that aren't 20,000 polys each. Otherwise, I'll just leave them out. In the bottom right, there is a figure to show scale. So far, the building look like a few guns pointing up, huh?...

That's a cool render, lazerus. The model details are nice. What are the chances of seeing a closer look at the little details?

Pheeww, I hope I'm not too late for this?
Had so much to do lately (game projects) that I almost didn't get a chance to finish this. It's not entirely how I wanted it to be, but still. Here's my entry.

Good luck to all!

Whoah! I hope I'm not too late for this one. The Slayer wanted me to add penguins but I didn't have enough time. Oh well, here is the masterpiece.

Ah, I see...it's my fault now, aye? Well, thanks. It's not my fault I like pinguins, right? Everyone should love pinguins more. They are so sweet. And, cute. And, pinguin like. And, cute.
We should all love pinguins more.
Nice iglo btw, Hodgey!
