Android / Tier 1 Eclipse AndroidManifest.xml issue

Hi Guys,

Hopefully this is an easy one for the smart lads - I'm still learning!

When I follow the Building a Tier 1 Android App on Windows instructions (which are very good by the way) at the part when eclipse is used for the first time (3.2.12) and I import my project, I occasionally get an small red cross placed on my project. Eclipse states this is a AndroidManifest.xml error.
When I check it out, the error message is...

error: Error: No resource found that matches the given name (at 'label' with value '@string/app_name'). AndroidManifest.xml

It states this error is on lines 11,12,24.

Does anyone know how to get round this problem.

As I said sometimes I dont get the error it goes through and I can continue to compile the APK and get that on my phone, but then sometimes I cant.
Its either being awkward or I'm being an idiot.
Any ideas.

Did you do the step 'Android Tools -> Fix Project Properties'?

Can you post the contents of your AndroidManifest.xml file?

And, what version of AppGameKit are you working with?

Hi Ancient Lady,

I followed all the steps to the letter.
After I wrote this post, I tried it a couple more times then on the third go it worked ok - though I changed nothing
When the error appears again I'll post the AndroidManifest.

Sometimes, after importing the project, fixing and cleaning, you have to close Eclipse and re-open it. This got me out of the problems, although it is very like similar to "switch on/switch off" solution typical of many technical fields.

Or giving whatever electric contraption is misbehaving a whack in the side.

It works wonders at jiggling computer boards into place.

Yep, well after a week of using eclipse the 'problem' hasn't reappeared (yet).
