Been catching up on some of the E3 stuff, seems to be some interesting stuff. I actually think Assassin's Creed 3 looks pretty cool, I've not played Brotherhood or Revelations, so I should probably catch up on those. I'm digging the sea battles.
Square Enix's new engine is looking pretty sweet graphics wise, it says it's a Final Fantasy tech demo, so I'm not exactly sure what they're actually planning with that, they've left very little detail. If there is going to be another Final Fantasy to add to the series, as cool as the graphics look, I'm gonna reserve myself on getting hyped up, given they seem to like disappointing fans like me. FFXIII was dumbed down and on rails(characters were annoying). FFXII was okay. FFXIV was a flop. I'm not even going to try FFXIII:2. FFX:2 was also bad. This pretty much means to me, the last 'decent' FF game (from the main series) I've played was FFXI and that's ancient now.
I actually like the sound of the Wii U, it seems like an odd concept, heck I even said to a friend, "innovating for the sake of innovating", having watched some of the games, I think it might be a little fun to play around with, though it looks a little awkward, but I'm gonna be open minded about it.
I don't think any of the FPS games grabbed my attention, it all seems to be pretty much a repeat of the same old crap again and again and whilst big FPS gamers might like that and I don't have a problem with games that are similar, because if you really like how a game works, you might like playing it over & over (like I do with some RPGs) but I was hoping to see something less cookie cutter. Not necessarily Call of Duty trying to be original, because it's Call of Duty therefore you expect Call of Duty, but maybe something new.
I watched the Hitman stuff and I might be tempted by it. I can't say a couple of its new features appeal to me, but from the looks of it, you can play the game without them (talking about hints and Agent 47's ability to see through walls).
