Hi,

Has anyone else here tried using AppGameKit EditBox commands in a Windows app on a PC that is running Norton Antivirus Auto-Protect?

When I attempt to type into the edit box, Norton disables the AppGameKit Windows app for "suspicious activity" citing "keyboard capture".

I don't use Norton (because it has always caused more problems than it solved).

But is there a setting that allows you to disable the key checker feature?

a red norton window should appear on the bottom right of the screen indicating the danger. click on it the click on options, choose restore (or trust) and it will not happen again..

Thank you for your replies.

We usually find the Norton products to be very good; we are using the latest version of Norton Internet Security, which includes Norton Antivirus Auto-Protect.

We are producing commercial games software using AppGameKit, so the main difficulty here is that this problem would show up for our customers who have Antivirus Auto-Protect (or any similar software) installed when they use our Windows apps produced using AGK.

Anything that captures the keyboard would have the same issues. Submit it to norton to see if it can be removed for your application, or educate your users, or make your own function that takes input that doesn't trigger the warning.
