Hey all,

I can't stop thinking about this and I have scoured the web so many times for indie games and professional games, wondering if any of you guys can help me out.

I've been looking for a free roam zombie game where you have to build your shelter, find food, water, equipment, weapons etc. Basically a game where you can go wherever you want and have to try and survive in a zombie world? I keep thinking of how awesome it would be for this, especially for an fps.

The big ones that I've already looked at or owned:

- Fallout Series
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R Series
- Metro 2033
- Left for Dead Series
- Killing Floor
- Half Life Series (apparently this counts according to the internet)
- Minecraft

Thanks,

Ben

Unhelpful Titles

Please do not simply write "Noob Question", "I am a newb", "One Noobie Question", "A question", "Please help", "This isn't working" or anything similar as the title of your post. We have a search facility, and meaningless titles do not help others find answers to their questions. It will also help you to get quicker responses if people have an idea of your thread content.

Dead Rising 2

It's not a survival game, but it's free roam and a lot of fun.

You are looking for DayZ. It takes a bit to get running, and it's still in alpha, but it is one of the most intense and realistic zombie games out there. A lot of fun, but also very stressful.

You'll need ARMA2 + the expansion to play, but they aren't expensive on Steam.

Although I haven't played it, I've been recommended Project Zomboid by quite a few people. It's at least worth a look. It's in an isometric viewpoint, but from what I can tell, that would be the only thing different from what you're asking for.

I dunno, I think you may be the one who misread something? He also hasn't corrected anyone who's been suggesting games so far, so I'm almost positive we're doing what he asked.

Day Z, Survival Crisis Z, Project Zomboid, The Dead Linger (in development), Dead State (in development. Really looking forward to this one!)

And of course, if you like flash games, my favorite zombie flash game series is Zombie Horde 3. It's a pretty nifty freeroam city game.

[edit]
Missed the free part, but oh well.

also really make better thread titles >.>

OK, but these posts pop up, and then somebody is making one. It's subliminal messaging in some cases. Doesn't really work on me.

Yeah project zomboid is exactly what you're looking for, the only thing I can really criticize it on is that it's 2D.

The level of depth to the gameplay is as far as I know unrivaled.
It's also extremely moddable!

DayZ does for some weird reason take up more graphical power than Arma 2 :S
