The only reason my friend's Fable III disk got scratched is because her sister accidentally kicked the XBox.
I've had my XBox 360 Premium since 2008 and I've had no problems. Heck, I've had more computer problems since getting my XBox. It's a decent console and the reason I bought it over a PS3 was because there were more games for it I wanted to play and for me, that's the deciding factor for
any console for me. Loved the PS1 and PS2 for the same reasons.
My parents own a PS3 and I think it is a nice console, as is the 360 I think both have their advantages and disadvantages, my sister owns a Wii, very few games I personally enjoy on there. There's some cool PS3 exclusives and to be honest, I wish I could play Little Big Planet 1 & 2 on my 360.
Yes, the 360 has a reputation of going wrong, which is why when I bought mine I paid an extra £20 for 3 years extra-cover (which of course has ran out), which even covered accidental damage. If the 360 does RROD then it is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, it doesn't happen as frequently as people make out either. Also, the PS3 isn't exempt from having things go wrong with it.
Quote: "Most of the 360's exclusives are shooters, so that's a matter of taste. I like most good shooters. However, you'll have access to every multi-platform game as well, so you'll likely have a good selection."
I was drawn in by exclusives like
Lost Odyssey,
The Last Remnant (okay, there is a windows version, but it never ran well for me),
Infinite Undiscovery and Fable II (which came with my 360). For some reason the XBox 360 seems to be the best console out for playing JRPGs, whilst the PS3 has some (which are also on the 360) the 360 has more. The PS1 and PS2 tended to have the most JRPGs prior to that, so it's kinda weird that there was a change.
As far as I am concerned, the ultimate console is entirely subjective, which is why console wars are utterly pointless, because how can somebody sit there and say, "your personal preferences are wrong"? The 360 meets my personal preferences, the PS3 could make me a sandwich and whilst that'd be very cool and definitely something PS3 users will find useful (solves the issue of having to walk to the kitchen mid game to make your own sandwich) but it means poop if it doesn't play the games I want.
