lol, nice analogy.
I like to think of England now as the kid who hangs around with the bigger kid so he won't get picked on by all the other kids (of course, not an accurate analogy of the relationship between the US and UK, but I think it's a fun one). We used to be the big kid who used to steal everybody's lunch money, then all the other kids decided to beat us up and now we're not so big any more.

I was waiting until somebody posted reference to the film, I've done it twice today, so I decided to hold restraint here.
Anyway, I hope all have a good Independence Day, obviously we don't celebrate it here, though when my dad was in the airforce and I was a kid, we did go to the American Airbase up the road to join in the celebration and it was pretty awesome (plenty of fireworks).
