I'm definitely considering it. I will need to look into it more though. I had planned to do a freaky game. We will see.

Add a light beam decal to that light, it would make the scene look more atmospheric and scary. Even better if you can make it flicker... Nice new screen nonetheless!

I still think you should keep going though, it looks great!

There ya go man, there's two more people that wanna see this game made. If you're taking a departure from the run away from Slender huge level type of game then I say pursue it. From the looks of it your game will differ from all the rest. Seems more investigatory (if that is a word) than the others. It seems to me that you have a solid character to investigate and it would be a shame to let him go to waste.

You have a point Disturbing... but to be honest, I was looking for maybe a commercial approach. I had considered Greenlight and then "eeked" when I saw all the Slenderman games. I just have a bad feeling that most people are going to look at me and expect to collect 8 pages in a 10-15 minute game.

Although, I'm not sure what to do. I agree strongly with Slenderman and his possibilities. I just think that maybe he too far lost into the mainstream.

They'll be pleasantly surprised then, wont they

But I see what you mean, Slender man has become a huge hit for a reason or another and all the games he's in, you do that page hunting for 10 minutes. I like'd Disturbing's idea of using another urban legend, if you don't want to use Slendy anymore. I for one would love to see this happen, just because it looks like it will bring something new and interesting to the Slender Man table and maybe dive deeper into it's mythos. But, whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it'll turn out great (I make this prediction judging from your other games) and I support you with it.

Maybe you could add in a bit of something new to it to make finding the pages harder, to make the game last longer, and make it more unique? like having to find keys or solving riddles like silent hill?

@Hamburger I don't think he is doing the pages in his slenderman game cause he wanted it different.

A lot of my FPSC media can be found here. Hope you guys stop in. http://fpscfree.webs.com/

I don't think anything Aztek is going to make will be that simple, in fact I don't see it as game-like at all; it will probably be more in the genre of a playable narrative with some game elements involved. Take for instance what he's shown us so far, I seriously don't see him tossing any enemies to fight and such in levels like that (police station). Those are to set the mood and characters of the story in motion. Nah, I can't see page hunting or even key hunting in this type of game. If there is any type of hunting in what I've experienced of Aztek's games, there is a purpose behind it that drives the story. Slenderman is definitely overused now, but a lesser publicized Cryptid or legend would fit nicely with what he has already created, but it is entirely up to him if he pursues the project in whatever form it may take.

Yeah, that's why I love Aztek's games. I would dare say they have the best storytelling around here. The mood is set great and the puzzles are very well done, there is no pointless enemies, every enemy has been there for a reason (that's how I felt about Escape the Bunker and Decay at least).

All this talk certainly gets me riled up. I'm talking myself out of the game and everyone else jumps up and is like "No! No! We want to play this!"

I'm floored, really. I think if I was to do Slenderman, I'd probably down-size it just a tad but I do have an idea on what I want in my game still. Or, I could just replace the antagonist creature in question.

I have a lot on my mind. I've been holding out for the cyberpunk pack... have been wanting to revisit Escape the Bunker... and then wanting to tackle a paranormal figure. Obviously I cannot do everything.

I just have no idea at this point.

It's long dead and so is the use of Slenderman. However, some things may be revisited since me seeing this thread pop-up again made me go check the maps I did for this project. It's freshened my mind.

Could a mod please lock this thread? It's necro-bumped way too often.
