hey guys, since my last finished project Adv Updater im looking for a new tool idea that will help game makers make their games much easier.
im looking for new tool ideas to work with.

also, i would like to suggest one idea that i had few days ago, i wanna see get feedback about it. let me know if its a good idea or what..
i was thinking for TGC MSDN-Like app. that will replace the local help files of every dbp command to remote help files that will include some sample code.
PLUS every user can submit their own fixes/commands to the help files (including downlodable plugins). and since it will work online with server, i might add even chat system or comment system that you can access easily from every dbp IDE.

please try to suggest me an tool and not a plugin. cuz im far far away from the knowlage of making plugins again. i dont want to get into it again. But if you wish to help me with plugin, i might make a tool and you can make the plugin for the tool. it might be a good duel app.

Make a tool to make scripts.

How about a particle text editor system. So you could have flame text, magical text, firework text, melting text. That sort of thing.
That would be good for title in games.

If you make it so it can load in a bitmap font, and put the particles on it. So it automatically traces the outline or something with the colour pick.

Well no I don't have samples, that's why a tool would be good.

Say you had a title for your game called...

Welder Wars

You let the player load a Bitmap Font. They type in the text Welder Wars. Your tool then lets you select a particle effect. So you pick a sort of sparkly one for welding. Then your tool goes into action. Traces the outline of the text Welder Wars. And puts an animated sparkle around it. The sparkle could write Welder Wars as though it were cutting through some metal.

Then you can save it out, and load it as a title for your game.

The text can be created in 3ds max as object's,then made to work in the program, this is a good idea.

Hardy... Try Notepad++

Sergey... Perhaps look into a mod for DarkNet to simplify it... Willing to pay you up to £10 for it as already doshed out £40 for DarkNet... it is pretty daunting... If you could tackle it (as AdvUp is network based hence why I suggested this) it would make things easier... As using the myriad of functions in it is trivial... So if you could create some form of MAP GUIDE of the entire function set... I would be £10 lighter...

The offer is inadvertantly open to all...

i think a general (animated) "effects" system would be useful to most. animated text effects, including pincho's "cutting torch" idea, would be a good place to start. i think he's imagining something like this where the particles would outline/trace the lettering:

A dedicated particle text program is better than a modelling package for writing text. The welding torch is one example. But hand written text of your name as though you were writing it is another possibility. Or text on fire. Or Tron glowing text. Or text that grows flowers around it. Text that sparkles like glitter.

Basically load in a particle effect, and the program traces it out for you.

The commands are Point to get the screen location of the text edges. And there's not to much programming involved. But making it look nice at the end is where the skill lies.

I prefer the common way that is used even in AAA games: rendering video animation in 3D editor.

Also you just need to spend a hour to make any particle effects for game title. Can you? Or you need to produce several game title effects per day?

p.s. glow is not particle effect.
