I've been having some trouble with section 8 prejudice lately. The people on the support forum said that there might be a program conflicting with it. Is there anyway to ensure that there isn't?

There are two things that can crush any game: drivers or codecs.

Drivers: graphic or physics (nvidia physx).
solution: update, downgrade (very rarely) or try to disable some/all settings.
Codecs: video codecs or codec packs.
solution: uninstall. install that comes with a game.

p.s. or just game is a bag of bugs <- main problem of all games. developers are never want to constant that.

p.p.s maybe antivirus. turn off and try again.

I've tried the whole anti virus thing and reinstalling drivers and reinstalling the game itself.

None of these have worked unfortunately.

Also, the game used to work.

P.S. is there a way to get more info from the "this program has stopped working" message?

P.P.S ok, I noticed this: Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll

Try to uninstall/rollback system before
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597
and do not install that

Um, How would I do that? System restore? I don't think I'll be able to with that....

Ok, I just bought red faction guerrilla on steam and it has the same problem as section 8 prejudice.

System restore, or, better, try to uninstall update.
Control panel -> soft -> show windows updates -> find and uninstall.

I think you should reinstall windows, because it's hard to give any proper advice remotely.

Yep, did that. It worked. However, I just realized that the problem was probably with games for windows live because both games that had trouble used it.
