in my app i got


somtething value returns 22.

so , it kinda messes up my images.

I don't think you can use both at the same time. Either use auto or manual. But I agree, it would be nice if it skipped manually assigned ID's.

He means you can't use both methods in the same program, for the reasons that you've demonstrated.

I believe it's due to memory/performance reasons. It's unnecessary overhead to store such data.
