My spec list:

I'm probably going to invest in a GTX 670 once the prices come down, and a monitor with a better resolution (1920x1080 most likely) as my 1600x900 monitor is not quite enough.

Lenovo ThinkPad SL510:

Windows 7 Professional 32bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz
2gb RAM
Intel GMA Graphics
250gb HDD
RealTek HD Sound

Not very powerful, but it's stable, reliable and durable (yes, I have dropped it). It's not as well built as the top range ThinkPads as the SL series were built as the cheaper alternatives, so they lack the rollcage technology you'll see in a t-series as well, so I can't throw my laptop on the floor, stand on it or do all sorts of crazy stuff and for it to still work just fine.

But it still comes with a couple of benefits:
1) Spill resistant keyboard
2) HDD Damage Protection. This means should there be any sudden movements, it'll stop reading & writing to the HDD so that it doesn't scratch.
3) Lenovo Enhanced Experience. It's a modified version of Windows 7 to reduce bootup and load times. It basically fixes some of the bottle necking windows does.

If you upgrade from 4 Gb to 8 or 12 or 16 Gb of ram then you have an awesome gaming rig

Just got a new computer today. It's really generic, but here goes:

Ben's Semiconductor 100Hz 3 bit processor with FPU

32B RAM

This one has 64 switches for storage and 5 LEDs for output. 3 Buttons input. This thing actually seems to have just gotten a virus...

Edit:

Looking at the documentation on this thing, it uses two instructions: MOV and BANK. You can MOV data between registers which automatically get added and appear in another register etc. Then BANK toggles between one of 4 memory banks.

it already is an awesome gaming rig. I've never had any lag in any modern games max'd out so far so, I'm not gonna buy better parts until it becomes sub-60fps laggy.

Hey Ralphy, how do you like that Xonar card? I was considering one but wasn't sure if I'd have compatibility issues. I've only used Creative cards since the sound blaster 16 days.

I'm not at home, so my laptop specs are:

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 Quad
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB & nVidia GeForce GT 650M 1 GB
512 GB SSD
2880x1800 LCD

Some of you will probably recognize that as the Retina MacBook Pro.

My desktop is a fair bit older:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit*
Quad Core Intel ~2.4 Ghz (Not sure of the exact model without looking at it, I believe it was pre-i<X> )
nVidia 260
4 GB DDR2
500 GB HDD + 1TB GB HDD

*Originally had Vista Ultimate 64-bit, cheaped out a little on the upgrade

Still haven't decided if and when the desktop will be replaced, and whether or not it will be with a Mac (which I will surely have to dual boot in, I need at least one Windows computer for the odds-and-ends and my excessively large Steam library that looks rather smaller with the "Mac Games" filter applied). For now it still seems plenty powerful enough, things may change when the next console generation is available and devs start targeting higher-end specs.

Laptop
Intel Centrino Duo @ 1.8GHz x 2
ATI Mobility Radeon something (X1400?); SM3-capable
2GB DDR RAM
64GB SSD
Installed with 14" or 15" LCD;1440x900
Windows 7

Desktop
AMD A6 "APU" @ 3.1GHz x 4
Direct3D 11-capable; OpenGL 4.2
4GB DDR3 RAM
3 x 500GB HDDs
Connected to 16" or 17" LCD; 1280x1024
Windows 7 32, Windows 7 64
I used to have Ubuntu installed. Can't stand their Unity desktop interface.
I installed the Windows 8 developer preview, which worked for me. I couldn't install the Windows 8 release candidate because "Your computer is not powerful enough to run Windows 8." Works just fine in an emulator. My BIOS is UEFI-based, btw. Might not support secure boot; probably why I can't run the release preview.

First Phone
ARM @ 600MHz
OpenGL ES 2.0 capable
800x320? 800x400? 640x400? I don't recall.
256MB RAM?
Palm Pre
webOS 1.4

Second Phone
ARM @ 1GHz
OpenGL ES 2.0 capable
800x400?
512MB RAM?
Galaxy S
Android 2.1? 2.2? Don't care enough to check.

----------------------------------------

I'm thinking it's about time to upgrade again. Will probably wait about six months. (Desktop, not btw.)

In total, for all of the above systems, I spent about $400 to $500 (USD).

Cheers,
Aaron

Laptop 1

Laptop 2 (my favorite despite its age)

Laptop 3 (the oldest but I like that it's small)

Desktop 1 - Home built, don't remember the specs. I did buy a new video card and PS for it last year.

Desktop 2

Other stuff...
IBM 80286

Apple IIe

Custom CPU / computer built from mostly TTL chips. If you're curious, just a single multiplier in the CPU takes around 256 chips...and there are eight multiply units in the CPU alone. Luckily most of the boards are modular between the CPU/DMA/IOP.

Quote: "Hey Ralphy, how do you like that Xonar card?"

The sound quality is awesome. Prior to it I had a creative Audigy 2 ZS, and for movies and listening to music I prefer the Xonar.

I'm not sure what the state with EAX on Windows Vista+ is with Creative now - the Xonar can emulate EAX, but to be honest I never use the feature. It sounds all right with games, but I can't think of a time when it's blown me away. I should probably actually try using some of the gaming settings at some point .

Stability wise, occasionally if an application doesn't shut properly the last few ms of whatever was playing can get stuck looping over and over. Requires a reboot to sort it out. Can't think of any other problems I've had with it.

Had it about four years now, and overall I'm happy with it. I think if I only used my PC for gaming I'd still go with a Creative card, but as I use it more for music and films I prefer the Xonar.

Also, It looks quite nice .

Just got my newest computer:

Xynotan Ferda 2 Bit 1.2 decahertz CPU (64 cores)
32 Bytes of RAM @ 0.5 decahertz
1TB SSD
8000x6800 32 bit display @ .01 frames per minute refresh rate
Keyboard and mouse
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit dual booted w/ Windows 8 consumer preview

Some really intensive games like Minesweeper and two player tic tac toe lag the computer on high settings, but on low settings it'll typically crank out around .005 or so FPM. The other game I like to play is the dot game, where you use the arrow keys to move a dot on the screen aimlessly. That runs about .01 FPM if I'm lucky.

The Windows experience index is 0.0. Very nice computer!
