I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned this yet but it would be nice just to have a sort of "Unarmed" weapon using the stock hands only. The player can take advantage of the animations with using objects but still be "unarmed" in a sense. I'm just coming from a perspective that it would add a lot more to the people who generally focus on adventure games more.

I don't generally mess around with guns/weapons and animations so I'm wondering if anyone has also thought of this or maybe have made their own unarmed hands? I know you couldn't distribute without a nod from Cyborg or TGC... yet I'm still curious.

I am completely with you @Astek.

But its not only about unarmed melee stock hands imo.

The stock weapons still include no melee weapon at all and ANY such included in an update as a stock weapon would be a very valuable asset for developers. Especially to new buyers of FPS Creator who would have to search through 60+ model packs to find melee weapons - probably only to buy some rigged to different hands than stock....

This pack has a great variety. I wouldn't expect them to come free either. I use this pack from time to time. I just wish that there was a basic hands weapon or something.

You and I are pros - now .

I use MP 54 too but when I started FPSC, I bought MP 5+6 because I wanted at least a knife and got stranded with melee weapons and guns that did only partially match.

A simple combat knife for stock hands included in future FPSC versions is not too much to ask imo, especially since atm there is none at all.

Hmm, anyone have a link to the stock hands? I can quickly rig and animate them to my combat knife or rune blade(whichever people prefer);

From what I remember the stock hands were free to use as long as they were for an FPSC item? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think a melee pack would be a great addition. I think I'll do some sketches today.

That Combat Knife of yours would be perfect for me but honestly now I feel like I stole the thread from ASTEK who asked for NO-WEAPON melee stock hands....

I could do a simple Doom Punch. Just need the stock hands file, if there is a download. If not I'll just raid a weapon file.

If I'm allowed to post it, I already have it done.

Thanks,

It's fine. LOL. The more weapons the merrier I say!

Nice. I'd make double sure it CAN be posted though.

1. Well if it's the stock hands that every one uses and releases then the answer is yes.
2. If you created the animation completely, then the answer is yes.
I don't see any problem as long as everything adhere's to the license of the model or any requirements set forth by the models creator.

Okay then, since it is the stock hands and it's my own animation, I guess I'll just give it out. It's attached in a .zip file, assuming you know the rest.

Hope this is what you were looking for,

You may need to get permission from Cyborg Arts. The stock weapons v2 use his hands (same as in his puzzle pack) but I don't know if the hand models are allowed for redistribution use.

The mesh itself is free for "any" use within FPSC. But as soon as you even think of including any of the extra animations past frame circa 280 you would have to contact me.

"-People may use the hands and the first 280 frames of animation however they want (sell, release for free etc).

-If they want to use the full set of animations they would have to contact me to get permission. I willl try to grant as many as possible permission, but I want to keep track of who is using these animations. "

This is what Lee agreed upon when I updated the stock weapons.

Notice that there is actually a slight (just slight) difference between the stock hands and the ones from MP54, so dont try to use MP54 assets and claim them as "stock"

On topic, I could probably put together an unarmed melee "weapon" and get Lee to include it in FPSC.
Should it be hands shown all the time? Or should they only appear when required?

THIS. I was thinking a weapon were it just called upon the extra animations when using stuff.

By the way... where did that video go that showed all the extra animations? I wanted to take full use of them and I'm also hoping that MP54 has the same animations as well.

Essentially what I'm trying to do in my game is just add that extra immersive feel with the hands actually showing what you are doing.

@Astek,

I am working on a model pack (for free) that contains a weapon that does what you are asking i believe.

The weapon is a cannon that is attached to the players right arm, leaving the left arm free. The left arm has animations to use light switches, enter codes, pick up keys etc. I have been asked to put a video together to show it all in action. (I will do this very soon; just been very busy with other things.....getting married this saturday! Quite a lot to prepare)

But, if this is what you are looking for, i can send the you the weapon.

Unfamillia

EDIT, But, it doesn't use stock hands, i modelled my own.

I think there should be an option to show the hands all the time.

Congrats dude!

As for the hands, I'm using a stock weapon in my game so I really had wished that the hand were the same. I'm not asking you to re-rig but I'm just stating that I didn't really plan to dive into two different hands. But at any extent, that does sound cool that you already have done something like that.

I guess for like a bare-fisted brawl but I'd like to see both honestly or perhaps just have the fits slightly in frame so we can change the gun position to move it out of frame if desired?

Prey is a good example of what I want btw but I know that this could easily be done with zone's and giveweapon. I'm done something like this already in my game. I was just wanting an empty hand to work with. If worse comes to worst, I can always make a custom Note weapon from the MP54 pack.

Scene commander did actually get a weapon like this, so I got all the files ready. I will see if I can find it on one of my harddrives. If not scene commander jumps in and is able to include it in the FPSC beta

As it's okay with Cyborg Art and providing it's okay with Lee, I'll add the weapon free hands to the next update.

Thanks for the model but one suggestion: can you make the hands weapon with two hands instead of one? It looks quite awkward with only one.

Thanks,
