Hey guys,

just thought I'd spread the word about my IndieGoGo campaign that went live last night.

Here it is if you're not interested in reading the next part.

To make a long story medium length, I've had this idea planned out and sketched in my notebook for nearly two years and after a very difficult year I've decided to jump back into the games development business. Currently I'm working nearly double my contracted hours at my job to pay for the required hardware and software needed to make this game (and my ever growing hungry belly) a reality. Unfortunately this leaves me with zero time to work on the actual project itself, so I thought I'd give crowd funding a try. Win or lose the least I can gain from this is publicity for the project which is never a bad thing.

All the information is on the page if you choose to read but I thought I'd just give a quick reasoning behind my campaign.
A pitch video is on the way as I type this and should be live within a few days, I'll also be updating the page with the progress on the project.

I'm not asking for money from you lot because hell, I know what its like to be short of cash. I'm merely asking you to spread the word to friends and family as it would do a great deal for me and mine.

Lemme know what you think about the whole thing, any mistakes on the page, if you just have questions about the project or my intentions then let me know.

There's also a facebook page and you can always reach me on twitter.

Cheers guys

Adam.

Looks like an interesting game! I tried to contribute but I keep getting errors with paypal. I'll try again later.

Good luck!

Cheers man, like I said don't worry about contributing too much, I just want the word out there. I hope that the paypal error isn't my fault. I've had a fair few views to the page but no donations so far. I'll double check that stuff now. I'm to assume you were trying to pay in dollars?

Unfortunately I didn't have the video ready in time which should explain a lot more but it should be ready soon.

Hmm, it looks like it's simply a game idea that hasn't been in development yet. Sorry to say, but ideas are a dime a dozen. If you had some early build going like the other Kickstarter games I've funded, maybe I'd chip something in. The only Kickstarter I've helped fund without some kind of prototype was the Double Fine Adventure because I trust Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert.

I should have mentioned it in the post really, the engine is 60% done but the reason I've not shown any of it is because the graphics were pure place holder (circles/squares and the like). It's ok showing fellow game developers a pretty much finished engine with awful graphics but the mass market can't look past terrible place holder sprites. The video would have shown the game but I've had some problems at work since the campaign went up and haven't had the time to get anything done.

Under the advice from a friend i've removed the campaign until a time when I can sit back and let the campaign run its course with everything in place. I admit I was a little hasty in making the campaign live without the proper pitch video I had planned, it was a case of it being too late with looming work deadlines that pushed me to do it preemptively. Going to give myself a couple of weeks to polish the graphics and pitch video and stick it back up again.

Does this mean we get to have a look? Regardless of what it looks like I'd like to see. If not, I guess we will in 2 weeks or so!

I must say, unless you got some gameplay - or well,, anything to show, there's no way I would donate, or even share this..

take this to your brain:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/343838885/nekro

That's how you promote a game, they have gameplay, and kind of solid looking actually, concept etc to show us - they KNOW what they want and what they can do, before asking for money.
