hello people from earth

i have decided to start some modelling and i chose blender i have made some sort of sign post (pic attached)

i'll keep posting to show you how i'm getting on.

It's fairly basic, but that's the best way to start. I personally wouldn't vertex paint it. Try using smart unwrap to start with, then painting a texture

All browsers should come with compulsory spell checks.

my it's late here and my eyes are tired. I read that line as

"I pervertex paint it."

I wonder what a pervertex would do with a locked mesh?

Nice Job gozzy ^_^ Keep at it! And no don't use Vertex Paint to texture it. That won't work out too well.

blender doesnt have a directx format on mine

You're probably best focusing on the low poly side of things if you want to use your models in games. The alien head you posted has 33k faces, so isn't very useful in games as it consumes lots of computer resources. To make that model usable you will need to go into normal map baking which is probably a little bit too advanced if you're just starting out.

All browsers should come with compulsory spell checks.

ok i will just make some simple models at the moment but when i import them they are really tiny and dont have there textures

thanks i just made a hammer on my other thread in the models and media section of fpsc you should check it out its good
