A friend of mine wrote and performed a song called Blind Eye

She sent me her vocals and I made a remix. What do you think? Her song is so happy, but the lyrics are sad, so I completely changed the tone of her song. It's kind of eerie, in my opinion. I also completely scrapped parts of her singing, and changed things around quite a bit.

Hmmm... I should see about adding a SoundCloud tag for the forums

There is enough of the google flash adverts crashing my experience on the forum, adding SC to the mix will just make things worse...

Maybe just make an image of a play button and link the URL to that

It is quite a soothing track I must admit! Well Done! but it kind of ends abruptly... still enjoyed it

It's like the old flower power songs, sort of psychedelic. I would give it 9/10.

How about you just install an adblock plugin and if Jeku wants to, he can add the tag? I for one think adding a tag for sound to the forums would be INCREDIBLY useful! It has my vote for happening.

Not contributing much of anything useful to the forums since September of 2007.

and me for 2

I think I actually prefer your version Jeku! Although, I wish there was a bit more variation in your rhythms and synth sounds. I suppose it is a remix though. Nice job!

is SC adapted HTML5 then I would have no issues, flash is just bothersome now... and youtube is not getting any better at using it either...

but yeah Sound adapters are very welcome... mind you, we may as well implement Silverlight, since it unlike flash is cross platform Mac and PC [since the focus of this site is not Linux as of yet we need not bother with it]

I can provide the player, you just need to specify where the AUDIO file is hosted...

EDIT

Indicium - Buddy I really hate to do this to you, but it was just so opportune >.<

I like the song, even though it suffers from Ironic Lyric Syndrome, I didn't follow all the lyrics but from the video I'm guessing "turn a blind eye so I can see" is about a woman rejecting the old-fashioned gender roles so she can experience what she wants in life. I'm prepared to be completely wrong about that.

Your remix is reminiscent of Bat for Lashes, which is a big compliment from me.

Shh... you're pretty.

Thanks for the good words, everyone I spent many hours working on it and have thrown out more revisions than I can count. In the end I "kept it simple, stupid"

Sounds really good, Jeku. I really like the consistent base rhythm you have going. Nice sounds.
