To publish for iOS you need a mac and Xcode. If you have a mac and Xcode, you can build the app right to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

The Viewer is terrible.

The Player can be compiled in Xcode and deployed to your iDevice. Then you can broadcast to the device running the Player.

The viewer only streams the app from your PC. The player is not allowed in the Appstore.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to post a working iOS player here, otherwise I would.

I use a Mac Mini with Xcode 4. I think the Mac Mini is the least cost option, especially if you have a monitor, mouse and keyboard handy to connect to it. The Mac Mini takes up a very small amount of desk space and works very nicely.

If you plan to sell in the Apple App store, then you will absolutely need a Mac of some sort. And sign up for the appropriate developer license ($99/year). There is a separate one for Mac and iOS.

If you can install Xcode, maybe. You should find and read the Apple Developer License to be sure.

$198/year - $99/Mac, $99/iOS

But, if you don't want to produce for the Mac world, you only need the iOS one. Or the other way around.

Those are the prices for a company. I think the indie prices are less.

Interesting... thanks for clearing that up... will try to keep Indie in mind, but I dunno how what will work when it comes to apps...
