I have a large selection of metal I like listening to. The list of bands I listen to is loooooooong. But recently? I've been listening to a lot of Stratovarius and Master Plan.
For example, here's Infinity by Stratovarius
Crystal Night by Master Plan (condemning it, don't worry, I'm not a Nazi

)
Other bands I love listening to whilst coding include Therion, who are an amazing, but very weird band. They're from Sweden and originally were a Death Metal band in the early 90s and kind of varied themselves after that - somebody described their albums as like a box of chocolates, because you never know what you're gonna get.

They go through band members fairly quickly, as different people's styles suit different albums. Their latest album was really weird and eccentric and not a good album for people new to Therion (it's a great album though). Also, they did a big concert in Hungary with an orchestra and the entire first half was just classical music. So it's hard to actually pick on of their tracks. However, I figure I'd pick this one. It's their cover of an Abba song and a pretty damn good cover.
Like a sir!
Opeth, most people will probably have heard of them by now. Another great Swedish band. This is one of my favourite songs of their's
Basically a progressive death metal band with a melodic after taste. Their latest album (Heritage) was basically singer/frontman Mikael Akerfeldt turning around and saying, "I've always fancied making a prog album", and so they did and it's a big contrast to the video there.
He also teamed up with master of prog, Steve Wilson (from Porcupine Tree) to do an album called 'Storm Corrosion', I enjoyed the result, but it is really bizarre.
I think I'll end on another band, a little closer to home and one I like coding to (keeping in theme). An old band, whose music is best played live (and hell, they really know how to get a crowd going). Despite being apart of the original British heavy metal scene, I think they're more appreciated on the continent in countries like Germany than here in the UK. Saxon. I've seen them 3 times, all at Wacken festival in Germany.
Also, my grandad used to do accounting for Saxon and given my uncle was a big Saxon fan (and therefore listened to their music all the time, along with Iron Maiden), I think it has made my dad kind of loathe their music a bit. He came with us to Wacken this year and we managed to force him to watch them live and he won't admit it, but he loved it.
When I'm not working, my taste is pretty much the same. After all, I'm not working when I'm watching them live

(at least, I've seen all of the bands I've listed live, heck I was there in that Saxon one).
