I got my TOS uniform on and I'm about ready to open up my Romulan ale and watch The Voyage Home.

Happy Star Trek day!

"To infinity and beyond!"
Aah, I love Star Wars! </troll>

Seriously though, is there any particular reason today is Star Trek day? (Like StarWars day being May 4th)

If you didn't know, today is the 46th anniversary of Star Trek TOS.

Star Wars day is a play on words, "May the 4th be with you"

Oh nice. I was never a Trekkie, but hope you guys have fun and Vulcan grip as many unsuspecting strangers as possible.

I am surprised George Takei hasn't posted a meme to do with this on his Facebook.

I decided to watch some TOS on netflix and come to find out it's the remastered version with updated special effects. They look really good.

Not sure if I saw the new movie or TOS first but I loved both of them. Only bad part about TOS is that it was made such a long time ago. Could not stand how family friendly TNG is, maybe if I had seen it when I was younger. Kind of how the old American cartoons was great when I was a kid but bore me to death now. Looking forward to the next Star Trek movie.

"Boldly go where no one has gone before" is overselling it though. Most of the time they are on well known planets after all.

The borg storyline is by far the best, until Voyager made a total joke of them.

STO made them the bad-- of the galaxy again..except for the fact you can equip their tech without ramifications.

I've seen the 2009 Movie and liked it.
And I've seen a Trek movie about Whales if my memory serves me right.
I enjoyed both of those
But otherwise... haven't really seen it properly to judge

I enjoy food quite a lot.

The Voyage Home.

I liked the 2009 movie, it didn't really feel like star trek, but it was good anyway.

I always thought the whole "uniform" thing was a joke...

Suddenly "pan galactical gargle blaster" popped up in my head.
Or how about Dr. Breen's Private Reserve water. Oh, and Big Kahuna Burger and Red Apple cigarettes deserve a mention as well I guess.

Aha. I was quite pleased that my wife (and her sister) used to have a load of Star Trek stuff when they were kids. Including the uniforms, phasers, tricorders etc.

Not quite so great when I found out she doesn't really love SF, just the Riker bloke (like quite a lot). It's the reason I have a beard now. I'm not complaining though... Plus the outfits from Rocky Horror Show (another of her loves) beat Star Trek in a heartbeat (ignoring the bloke stuff obviously).

Cheers

This only leads me to assume you're Tim Curry in all this.

Is this you on a Friday night?

Not that I'm complaining, I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Hmmm, yeah my brain shuts down on the male side of the show. Strangely all I can remember is women in skimpy outfits. Once my brain then removes the better looking men from my list of women then it's all good.

How dare you. It will be a cold day in hell when this is me on a friday night. Nah, it's thursday nights as I don't work on fridays anymore. I normally relax and watch Antiques roadshow on a friday night. With a pipe.

Ever been to a live show? It's pretty nuts. My wife has been to loads but a friend of hers has been to literally hundreds.

Cheers

Never been to one. I probably should, normally I detest musicals but I guess this is one worth seeing live. Saying that, hasn't George Takei just started a musical? I don't know if it'll tickle the fancy of any Trekkies here.
