Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for A3 folders to store art work in, preferably with multiple pockets which cost just a few pounds. Know any shops that sell them that would be worth going to? I don't really want to order online for a folder that costs £3-5 and then have to pay shipping, bumping the price up to around £10 :\

I'd imagine it would be quite simple to find. Just look around whatever art shops are in your town, since there are no retail-chains that I know of (besides the expensive Hobbycraft).
Your best bet is online, just take that extra cost on the chin, really. I guess other than that shops like supermarkets often sell folders of some sort, although these tend to be flimsy and not suitable to hold precious art work.

I've been looking online tonight, but I'm not 100% sure what kind my tutor wants me to get, so I'll probably ask tomorrow and search again, he might give me a name of a recommended brand etc.

This is all for a games development course and I need the folder for concept art etc.

If its for drawings I would recommend the cheap plastic ones, doesn't really matter the brand make. These are waterproof provided they fold over with a button clip, sealing it at the top, better than the more expensive leather ones that use a zip.

I was looking for a wooden case... as thats my choice ideally, dislike creased paperworks haha but found you a few gems...

http://www.bing.com/search?q=wooden+A3+carry+case&qs=n&form=QBRE&pq=wooden+a3+carry+case&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=

That was my search terms

So you can peruse the rest of the stuff but I found a pair that stood out...

http://www.quickdrawsupplies.com/shop/a3-art-portfolio-storage-and-travel-case-with-vinyl-finish-and-shoulder-strap-non-ring.html

This is my first choice...

And

http://www.artstore.co.uk/mapac-clear-project-bag-a2-c-185-p-6656

This is the cheaper option...

Both of these are on that results page above... the second is a sub page but the domain name is there...

Hope this helps...

EDIT

I know you said you did not want to buy online... but you cannot expect the same prices locally... they must include premises and staff costs... unless you are clever or fortunate that there is both a discount in store and your student id will allow a % discount

Rymans or Staples... Staples is often pricier...

We have no clue where you live... but as suggested look for local art stores... but again you cannot expect the prices to match online prices...

Live in Liverpool, UK. The second link you posted looks like the folders the tutor got us which are to be kept in the class. I'm basically after a folder that has at least 8 compartments / flaps to store different pieces of work in. Other than that, its basically 8 folders, making it a pain to carry around on a bike :\

I highly doubt you will get that for under a tenner...

Go for that black case anf use individual pieces... It will keep them safe... Or go for a round container... I prefer them actually...
