Hi,

Having read various pages and forum posts, it's obvious that the Windows Phone 7 version of the AppGameKit never materialised - I'm guessing that the lack of native development support played a role in this.

So - given that Windows Phone 8 is days away from launch and supports native development, will there be an updated AppGameKit for WP8, and if so, any rough estimates as to when it will be available? Currently we are working exclusively on the WP7, but want to expand to other platforms, and the ability to keep a single code base would be a great advantage.

Thanks!
Ben

I wouldn't say it is impossible, but if I recall correctly AppGameKit uses OpenGL, WP8 has DirectX, that might be a challenge.

I'd say that AGK's experience with the Ultimate Coding Challenge will probably come in handy for this. They have a start on OpenGL to DirectX wrappers with what was done for that project.

our lady is right

Lee wrote that they are working on an workaround to that microsoft dont support open gl on there surface and phones.

I where against supporting them before !

But i belive its a large market on theses devices as alot of devs are not to happy to join the bandwagon with microsoft.(mostly because they dont support open gl)

Wich means the app buyers and users could be more eager to try apps from small unknown devs.

Like the early days on apple app store.
