Hi all,
Just wanted to know if there is a easy to use program out there that lets you create segments like the stock diagonal, slanted and curving walls, but apply a custom texture to them or if there is a simple way to do it manually?

Kind Regards,
Nathan

use the segment editor, use the slanted .x file from the stock pack then use what ever Texture you wanted to use, Bada Bing Bada Boom custom slanted segments.

Segment Editor can be found here: (scroll down)

.X file from stock media can be found I think under the meshbank inside your FPScreator/files folder.

Uhhh pain, I seem to have ran into a problem, I select the mesh and apply the texture, but how do I save it properly, when I try to save it I can see it in the segments menu of FPS creator, but when I try to place it, nothing is placed in the map editor, can you help me out please?

I will try it when I get a chance either tonight or this weekend

I am currently still at work.

But you should not have an issue with it.

You need to add the extension .fps to the save name or it wont save out.

ie. yoursegment.fps

If your saving out properly your problem likely is you forgot to copy over the textures/meshes to FPSC folders, the segment editor has its own folders.

You only have one life ... Abuse it well.

Thats what I thought he might be doing. I was going to just write up a step by step tut. But I could not remember every step off hand so I was going to make a few segments and write down the steps as I went.

@ Nathan38
Try what Rolfy said to try and let us know how that worked.

@ Rolfy
Do you know of a tut already made for the segment editor around here. I thought I saw one awhile back. I might be wrong. I see things even when Im sober and they might not actualy be there.

Thanks for the help lads, unfortunately I think I'm doing something wrong, I copied the meshes, segments and textures folders from the segment editor into fpsc's folders and it still won't show up when I place it, can you advise?

I'll mess about a little bit see if I can solve it, thanks again.

Nathan

EDIT - Crisis averted! fully functioning now, thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it

The segment editor is awesome for custom segments, but if you just want to change the texture I would just use Firma. I'm not sure if there is a download available anywhere anymore, but I'm pretty sure fps-files.com still has one.

Your signature has been erased by a mod, please reduce it to no larger than 600 x 120.
